As much as I would like to keep things positive, I want others to see that adoption can be dangerous. Olivia is a survivor. It's hard for me to balance the way I feel nonadoptees want to view adoption AND the way I feel that international adoption needs to be regulated more and acknowledge how absolutely hurtful it can be or become for many people. I will try to find a better resource to help uplift and support Olivia for her journey getting justice in her case. Stay tuned.
I think this case illustrates how dehumanizing some people treat or view us. Above all, please leave with the understanding that Olivia is an individual just like you. This is meant to bring awareness and not for others to pass judgment on how this survivor is feeling or living beyond her past experiences.
