Last year a small group of hilltowners got together to resurrect this organization. There was a lot of excitement and many ideas for ways to improve the organization and help our community. But as we looked under the hood at the materials available to us, we discovered the job was larger than anticipated. No source files for editing, no access to the newsletter account, no access to the domain name, etc. In essence, we needed to mostly start fresh. Having a virtually clean slate is refreshing in a way, but it wasn't what was expected. On top of that, a few locals decided to troll us, both publicly and privately - leaving negative reviews, making negative assumptions about the organization and its members, name calling, slander, etc. This greatly deflated much of the excitement.
Over the past year, people who were planning to get involved and people already involved decided to step back, at least for now. For some, it was the amount of extra work needed to get off the ground. For others, it was due to the trolling by fellow hilltowners. And so, very little of what was planned and hoped for has come to fruition.
With all that said, here we are, needing to make a big decision. Do we continue forward to resurrect this organization, in one form or another, or let it fade away? To move forward with it, we need help. It doesn't have to be a lot, but something. We need ideas. We need creativity. And positivity. People willing to listen, learn, share, and work together to put those ideas into action.
