We had a wonderful time at Remark-Able Ranch today. The students were able to learn about their farm and the highland cattle they raise. We were able to learn about cattle genetics, what colors were typical and rare, and about their mission. Everyone (even the cattle and donkeys) was so friendly, welcoming, and was willing to answer any questions that were thrown their way. If you have yet to visit these wonderful animals, we highly recommend that you do!
Side note: Yes, the babies were the cutest and fluffiest things ever! We hope to visit again soon to volunteer at the farm.

We ended FFA week with our annual staff appreciation breakfast!
This is an event we always love to do, it’s great to start the day with some good food and even better company! As always, thank you Mrs. Shepard for the wonderful pictures!

Today may be Valentine’s Day, but we had some dedicated members get an early start this morning to attend the state meats judging contest at Purdue! Despite being new to the contest, they managed to survive being in the freezer for 2 hours while placing 6 different classes, quality and yield grading beef carcasses, and identifying meat cuts.

The Knightstown FFA is selling strawberries and other products like jams/salsas/amish fudge. Please reach out to an FFA member or the advisor if you would like to order anything, we also have an online shop if yo would like to place an order there! Orders are due on Feb 24th and delivery will be the week of March 16th. If you have any questions please let us know!

We were able to have Jenna Lawler, the Indiana FFA State Reporter, come to the Agriculture classes today to do a workshop over integrity! Students were able to work as a group to discuss several scenarios, played some games, and evaluate what integrity means to them. Thank you Jenna for spending the day with us!

Santa will be at the Academy on Friday the 19th from 5-8 pm and on Saturday the 20th from 6-8 pm!

Christmas at the Academy will be closed on Sunday Dec 14th due to cold temps and possibly poor road conditions, stay warm and stay safe! We will be open again on Friday the 19th!
