is a 501c3 Organization that was founded by two dedicated women committed to the mission of saving the lives of homeless dogs and cats. After getting knocked down several times in the rescue community they decided to branch off and create their own rescue so their mission will go on uninterrupted. FABS Rescue is a foster-based, non-breed specific rescue with an emphasis on the Chow Chow breed, a b

reed that is very misunderstood. We are based out of Northern Connecticut. FABS Rescue relies on the generosity of volunteers and donors to provide medical care, training, and daily care to dogs and cats at risk of euthanasia. Stella is safe because a foster stepped up! Thank you Rachel for opening your home to Stella.

Everyone, meet Stella — a beautiful girl with a sweet face and a bright future ahead of her. ❤️

Stella is approximately 4 years young and weighs just 38 pounds, making her the perfect medium-sized companion. She was picked up as a stray by Animal Control after being found near Saratoga and Runningbrook in Creedmoor, NC. While we don’t know how she ended up on her own, we do know that those days are behind her.

Stella is currently on hold for evaluation as we learn more about her personality, temperament, and needs. We do know she is heartworm positive. We are excited to get to know this gorgeous girl and help her find the loving forever home she deserves.

A huge thank you to the staff at Granville County Animal Shelter for keeping Stella safe while she waited for her next chapter to begin.

🌹 Welcome Rose and Her Sweet Little Nuggets to FABS Rescue! 🌹

Meet beautiful Rose and her adorable babies! Rose was living as a stray in a rural South Carolina neighborhood (hard to believe when you see how gorgeous she is!). After becoming pregnant, she found a safe place to have her kittens in a kind Samaritan’s barn. Thankfully, she chose exactly the right family to trust.

The Good Samaritan reached out to FABS Rescue for help, and we were happy to step in and get this little family to safety. ❤️

These precious nuggets are currently about 5 weeks old and are already eating both wet and dry food like champs. They certainly didn’t waste any time growing up!

We are now accepting adoption applications for sweet mama Rose and her babies. The kittens will be ready to go to their forever homes at 8 weeks of age.

We have very sad news to share… yesterday we had to say goodbye to our sweet Francis. 💔

When Francis first came to us, he was in terrible shape. He was battling a severe inflamed skin infection, missing fur, painful irritated skin, damaged eyes, and heartworm disease. Over the past few months, we watched this handsome boy slowly begin to heal. His infection finally came under control, his fur started growing back beautifully, and his eyes were healing so nicely. After everything he had endured, we were finally able to begin his heartworm treatment and felt like he was truly on the path to the happy life he deserved.

Francis had even made it through his first heartworm injection, but shortly after, his foster mom noticed he just wasn’t himself. He was laying curled up in a corner, quiet and uncomfortable, so we immediately rushed him to the vet. Bloodwork revealed severely elevated liver levels, and he was referred to the emergency vet for further testing.

After a long and heartbreaking wait, x-rays showed two very large masses — one in his chest cavity and one in his stomach. The tumors had already grown so large they were taking up most of his chest and abdomen. At that point, we had to make the devastating and selfless decision to let him go peacefully.

Our hearts ache for Francis because after everything he survived, he finally had a home waiting patiently for him once he completed his heartworm treatment. He was so close to getting the life he deserved. Sadly, our sweet boy did not get his happy ending.

We are beyond grateful to his foster mom Rachel, who showed Francis what love, comfort, affection, and safety felt like during the final months of his life. Because of her, Francis left this world knowing he mattered and knowing he was loved. He was not alone.

Fly high, sweet Francis. Until we meet again. 🌈🐾

Our handsome boy Chowder got a much-needed bath today. Unfortunately, it had to happen — he was smelling pretty rough 😅 — but judging by that smile on his face, he certainly didn’t mind one bit!

Bath time was a complete success, and so was meeting his foster brothers. We are so proud of this sweet boy and how far he’s already come. ❤️

Onward, sweet boy… onward to the beautiful life you deserve.

Our beautiful Ghost made it safely to Connecticut! 🤍

As always, a HUGE thank you to David for taking such incredible care of our girl and getting her safely to her destination. We appreciate you more than words can say.

Another BIG thank you to our amazing foster, Summer, for picking Ghost up from transport and welcoming her with open arms. Ghost was more than ready to get out of that crate, stretch her legs, and start making new friends ❤️❤️❤️

And now… this sweet girl is officially on her way to her forever home in Rhode Island. We are beyond excited for you, Ghost. After being cruelly dumped on a 55mph highway and left behind by the person who was supposed to protect you, you still chose to trust and love. Thankfully, your story did not end on the side of that road. Your happy ending is just beginning.

To the person who abandoned her — Ghost survived despite you, not because of you.

Happy life, sweet girl. You deserve every bit of love coming your way 🤍

Our final Welding Cat Family—Phoenix and her babies—are growing so fast! ✨
These little nuggets will be 5 weeks old in just a couple of days, and in only 3 short weeks, they’ll be ready to head off to their forever homes.

Phoenix has been an incredible mama through it all, and now it’s her turn to find a loving home of her own. 🧡
