Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice reminds us of the importance of service, community, and the freedoms we are privileged to enjoy each day. As we gather with family and loved ones this Memorial Day, may we also take a moment to reflect with gratitude and remembrance.

From the CRO Community Foundation, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the families who carry the legacy of those who served.

The CRO Community Foundation Scholarship Program application window closes tonight, and students in Eastern Wake County with a minimum 2.9 GPA still have time to submit.

Awards range from $1,000 to $3,500 across four scholarships, and every eligible student in Knightdale, Wendell, Zebulon, Rolesville, and Wake Forest deserves to apply.

Student pursuing business or STEM degrees have a dedicated, high-value award available to them right now.

The CRO Business and STEM Scholarship offers $3,500 to high school seniors from Eastern Wake County planning to enroll in a business or STEM program at a four-year college or university.

This award was designed specifically for students entering high-growth fields, and the application closes May 15 at 11:59 p.m. at https://crocommunityfoundation.org/scholarships.

Students in Knightdale, Wendell, Zebulon, Rolesville, and Wake Forest with a 2.9 GPA or higher should apply before time runs out.

The CRO Excellence In Service Scholarship was built to support students who choose the initial path to higher education via community college.

This $2,000 award is available to high school students planning to attend a two-year institution and to current community college students entering their second year.

Eastern Wake County residents with a 2.9 GPA or higher are eligible to apply.

The application deadline has been extended, apply before May 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m..

The CRO Community Foundation Scholarship offers a $1,000 general award with no restriction on field of study, open to eligible students across Eastern Wake County.

Applicants must reside in Knightdale, Wendell, Zebulon, Rolesville, or Wake Forest and hold a minimum 2.9 GPA.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Spring Into Impact: CRO Community Festival—and an extra special thank you for your grace and flexibility when we had to shift the date due to weather.

You showed up, you showed love, and you made it all worth it.

It was truly a beautiful day filled with community—for real. From the families and kids, to the vendors, volunteers, and partners… the energy, connection, and joy were everything we hoped it would be and more.

We are so grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for showing up and being part of this moment with us.
