Pulled from the 2025 Walk for All Mankind Impact Report, these numbers show how your support turned into real resources and programming for students across North Carolina HBCUs.

In 2025, Walk for All Mankind raised $30,724, supporting 9 HBCUs through wellness programming, mental health education, outreach, and expanded access to care.

THIS IS OUR WHY. | Meet Our 2026 CRO Community Foundation Scholars! 🎓

From a record-breaking 54 scholarship applications, six exceptional students were selected to receive a total of $12,000 in scholarships from the Cultivating Resources & Opportunities (CRO) Community Foundation!

Please join us in celebrating our 2026 Scholarship Recipients:

🎓 Jami Ward — $3,500 Crystal Creech Shepherd Memorial Scholarship | East Carolina University

🎓 Jayden Grantham — $3,500 CRO Business & STEM Scholarship | North Carolina Central University

🎓 Monica Mekael — $2,000 CRO Excellence in Service Scholarship | Wake Tech Community College

🎓 Ashlee Hua — $1,000 CRO Community Foundation Scholarship | UNC–Chapel Hill

🎓 Benjamin Chevis — $1,000 CRO Community Foundation Scholarship | North Carolina A&T State University

🎓 Arielle Burt — $1,000 CRO Community Foundation Scholarship | North Carolina Central University

These scholars represent academic achievement, service, leadership, ambition, and tremendous potential. We are proud to invest in their futures and excited to see the impact they will make on their campuses, in their professions, and throughout their communities.

We extend a special thank you to Ms. Kia Bell, Scholarship Chair, whose leadership, creativity, care, and attention to detail made this year's scholarship program and Scholarship & Service Awards Reception a phenomenal showcase of excellence. 988 Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline and remind our communities that support is available. Through 988, people can call, text, or chat to connect with trained counselors and access support and resources.

Mental health support should be accessible when it’s needed, and that belief is at the heart of why we walk.

You can save a life.

This September 19, Walk for All Mankind™ continues that commitment by raising funds to strengthen counseling services at North Carolina HBCUs.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice reminds us of the importance of service, community, and the freedoms we are privileged to enjoy each day. As we gather with family and loved ones this Memorial Day, may we also take a moment to reflect with gratitude and remembrance.

From the CRO Community Foundation, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the families who carry the legacy of those who served.
