Karuna Karuna is a 501(c)3 non-profit Animal Rescue & Sanctuary located in beautiful Kneeland, CA. Paula Ray founded Karuna in May 2020 and is our acting Director.

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue and sanctuary committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned, abused, and neglected animals. Unadoptable animals live out their lives at our peaceful sanctuary, where they are provided love, care, and enrichment. Our vision for the future is to educate our communities about the responsible, humane, and ethical treatment of all animals to put an end to animal suffering and homelessness.

Another challenging morning here at KARUNA with no Nova Lou Snuggle Butt vocally demanding to go out to potty at 4 am.
She slept inside in the best spot inthe house in a deep bed of straw, which she loved to bury under and hide all but her butt. We miss her terribly.

However, there have been some positive developments. Multiple check-ins have been received from recently adopted alumni.

Senior Poppi has found her perfect forever home, and we have received wonderful update pictures.

Puppy Poppi underwent spay surgery on Tuesday and is now officially adopted into her loving family. All of our rescues are extremely important to us, as they are not just numbers or a means to profit, but rather family members who receive love and compassion.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has sent loving messages for Nova and provided support and donations to our rescue organization.

Please know that your kindness is deeply appreciated, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
