Klamath River Hose Company Klamath River Hose Company was started in 1985; today known as Klamath River Volunteer Fire Company. We are a 501(c)3 and rely on donations for support.

We provide emergency services, both medical and fire, to the residents of Klamath River and beyond.

Firefighters are on scene of an approximately 1/2-acre fire just east of Seiad close to Highway 96.

Forward progress has been halted on the Ladd Fire and a hoselay has been installed around it.

Firefighters remain on scene constructing hand line and mopping up.

It’s drier than usual for this time of year in and around the . Please do your part to prevent wildfires! It only takes one spark from an unattended campfire or debris burn, a dragging trailer chain, or a lawnmower blade hitting a rock to start a wildfire.

On the scene of new fire starts east of Happy Camp, near Cade Mountain. We are very thankful for a quick response: USFS, Happy Camp Fire, and Klamath River Fire. Crews are actively monitoring conditions and working to keep the public and firefighters safe.

Dutch and River Fires Update

Dozer line has been completed around the Dutch Fire and firefighters are strengthening fire line with hoselays. Mapped size is 23 acres.

Fire activity on the the River Fire has moderated and firefighters continue to extend hoselays up both flanks. Approximate size is 15-20 acres.
Multiple resources from the the Klamath National Forest and CAL FIRE (CAL FIRE Siskiyou Unit & the Lassen Modoc Unit) are on scene, as well as resources from the Klamath River Hose Company, Hornbrook, and Scott Valley Fire Departments.
Between the two fires, 4 hand crews, 9 engines, 2 dozers
and 1 helicopter are committed.

The fire causes are under investigation.

DRIVERS ON HIGHWAY 96: PLEASE REDUCE SPEED, USE HEADLIGHTS, AND WATCH FOR FIREFIGHTERS WORKING IN THE AREA OF DUTCH CREEK AND LUMGREY/EMPIRE CREEKS.
