Why do we hold the BB&B each year? To support the children attending Camp Evergreen, a Klamath Hospice and Pallative Care labor of love. Camp Evergreen is a free youth grief camp which provides a safe, healthy, supportive and accepting atmosphere for youth to share experiences and feelings associated with the death of a loved one. Nearly 60 children, ages 8 through 17, attend the camp each year. Klamath Sunrise Rotarians visited last week. The children shared the joy they had meeting new friends, worries being away from home for the first time, excitement enjoying the woods, swimming pool and games, and of course, learning ways to work through their grief. Help support Camp Evergreen. Plan on attending the BB&B, Saturday, Aug. 8 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Enjoy good music and food. Tickets available at Holliday Jewelry and at the gate — Klamath Yacht Club on Front Street

As director, Affleck-Johnson is pulling out all the stops to improve the museum's visibility and engagement with the community. Check out what they are doing at www.klamathcounty.org/427/Museums. And check out our Rotary Club. Come meet us at an informal social Tuesday, June 16, at 5 p.m. at The Garage downtown.

April is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Appropriately, East Coast Rotarian Steve Fine gave a presentation to the Klamath Falls Sunrise Rotary club — via Zoom — on the varieties of melanoma, recognition and prevention. Good advice as one heads out under the sun. Sunrise Rotary meets Tuesdays at 7 a.m. in the Fairfield Inn. Come join us for breakfast and good discussions.
