Every child in this video is saying something simple: I deserve to feel safe. I deserve to be loved. I deserve to say no.

Those words should never have to be taught. But for children who have experienced abuse, CARES is the place where they are heard, believed, and supported through the hardest chapter of their lives.

This year, 115 children have walked through our doors. CARES needs $200,000 to keep serving every child who needs it. So far, we've raised $51,000.

Will you be the reason a child gets the care they need this year?

There is a door in Klamath Falls that changes everything for a child who walks through it. A door that stays open with the support of people like you.

CARES is the only Child Advocacy Center serving Klamath and Lake counties. Last year, 138 children walked through those doors. This year, we've raised $51,000 toward a $200,000 need.

That gap closes when a community shows up together. Some people give $25. Some give $100. A recurring gift of $35 a month means that every year, you are the reason one child gets the full care they deserve.

Sometimes the best things happening in our community don't make it to your feed.

A free documentary screening about the health of our own county. A space being transformed for children who deserve wonder. A local food organization settling into a new home with a little help from their neighbors.

It is always about the kids.

People in this community have a way of finding each other around causes that matter. Sometimes that looks like a fundraiser. Sometimes it looks like a monthly donation. Sometimes it looks like sharing a post with someone who needed to see it.

CARES is the only Child Advocacy Center serving Klamath and Lake counties. It is there for children who have experienced abuse or neglect, met with safety, compassion, and a team that does not let them face it alone.

A wall inside Sky Lakes' new Rehabilitation Center is ready for something meaningful.

We are commissioning a mural for the Pediatric Therapy Treehouse, a space designed for children with physical, sensory, and developmental challenges who deserve a place that feels like wonder instead of a waiting room.

What is it about this place?

State officials keep asking the same question about Klamath Falls. What is the special sauce? Why does this community come together in ways that others simply do not?

It starts with people who believe that where you grow up should not limit what you can become, and an organization willing to build the infrastructure to prove it.

Sky Lakes is developing a model that goes beyond healthcare. A way of training people for the careers they actually want, rooted in the community they already love.

There is something about hearing it from someone outside of this community that makes it land a little differently.

Becky Hultberg, President and CEO of the Hospital Association of Oregon, has seen a lot of hospitals. A lot of communities.

When she talks about what Sky Lakes and the Klamath Falls community have built, and what a healthy Klamath Falls looks like five years from now, she is being specific. And specific is what matters.

The foundation is already laid here. The Sky Lakes Foundation’s work is part of what keeps building it.
