🌟 Community 101 Grant: Riddle High School 🌟

We are honored to receive a Community 101 Grant awarded by students at Riddle High School through the Oregon Community Foundation.

This funding will support the creation of comfort kits for youth ages 12–17 entering our shelter, providing items that offer reassurance, care, and a sense of stability during a difficult time.

We are especially grateful to the students of Riddle High School for their thoughtful investment in youth in our community your compassion is already making a difference.

Community 101 (C101) is a classroom-based program that gives students an opportunity to get involved in their communities through grantmaking and volunteering.

Riddle Jr/Sr High School Mission Statement: The students of Riddle High School Leadership class, and Community 101 group, want to help non-profit organizations that work with victims of violent crime specifically including victims of child abuse and victims of domestic abuse. We feel these issues are very important and are closely related. Our class feels both of these issues deserve whatever support we can give them. With the help of the Crane Creek Family Fund and The Oregon Community Foundation, our class will have fundraisers to get additional funds for important issues we face in our local community.

Thank you for standing with survivors.

We are grateful to the Ford Family Foundation for their generous $4,500 Technical Assistance Grant, supporting the continued growth and strength of the Klamath Advocacy Center.

Through this funding, we were able to hire a consultant to provide administrative support and staff training. An investment that strengthens our internal capacity and enhances the quality of services we provide to survivors across Klamath County.

While this type of support often happens behind the scenes, its impact is felt every day, helping our team work more effectively, respond more efficiently, and better serve individuals and families in need.

If your phone is “helping” you… but it feels like someone else is watching, trust that feeling. 👀

Technology makes life easier—maps that reroute traffic, phones that unlock with your face, and apps that store everything. But the same tools can also be used to stalk, monitor, or control a partner through location sharing, account access, spyware, smart home devices, and even social media logins.

The tricky part is it can look “normal” at first—like checking in, wanting passwords, or insisting on tracking for “safety.” Over time, it can turn into constant surveillance and isolation, and new apps/devices make it easier for abuse to hide in plain sight.

What’s one digital boundary you think every relationship should respect (location sharing, passwords, device access, something else)? 💜📱

April 2026 marks the official 25th anniversary of Sexual Assault Awareness month first called for by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center. For 25 years, Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) has united survivors, advocates, and communities in the shared commitment to end sexual assault, abuse, and harassment. This milestone is both a celebration of progress and a call to keep moving forward.
