RAP Camp Resources and People (RAP) Camp in southern Oregon provides students, ages 13-18, a chance to learn about natural resources!

RAP Camp Lets You:

DISCOVER the great outdoors! INTERACT first-hand with natural resource professionals! HAVE FUN hiking, swimming, canoeing and sightseeing! If you are a high school student between the ages of 13 and 18, have completed 8th grade, RAP Camp is for you! Students spend a week at Camp Esther Applegate learning about the diverse natural resources that make up an ecosystem. Participan

ts spend their days on field trips and hands-on outdoor activities learning about natural resource disciplines, such as forestry, fisheries, wildlife, range, riparian, geology, recreation, fire, wetlands, wilderness, and cultural resources. There is also time for outdoor recreation activities and special evening programs. At the end of the week, new-found knowledge and team building skills are combined as students develop and present a land management plan.

RAP Camp 2017 is off and rolling! Monday and Tuesday sessions have included presentations from the US Fish and Wildlife Services Forensics Lab, presentations on LNT (Leave No Trace) by the Bureau of Land Management, as well as Range and Botany sessions with the U.S. Forest Service and many more. Have you been wondering what to do when school gets out this year? Think about joining the 26th Annual RAP Camp program, June 11-17, 2017 and discover your future!

RAP Camp provides an opportunity to work alongside natural resource professionals getting a small taste of what work in those career fields is like.

Students ages 13-18 are welcome. You must have graduated 8th grade.

Cabin #1 Flag. At RAP Camp, each cabin makes a flag. The cabin that comes up with the most creative flag and presentation wins first in line to the dining hall. Nice work guys!
