I am reaching out to ask for your support in speaking up for the Federal wildlife professionals and conservation scientists who have been terminated due to recent layoffs. These budget cuts and the hiring freeze have significantly impacted our Klamath Falls, OR community, with at least five individuals , including two from our Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge Complex (KBNWRC), losing their jobs. The impacts from the budget cuts, hiring freeze and mass layoffs will be far reaching and include nonprofit partners who help carry out restoration and conservation work through refuge partnerships.
These dedicated professionals have committed their careers to conserving wildlife and our natural resources. Further cuts are anticipated, and the consequences will be devastating.
