The final week of the spring program at York Middle School was filled with joy as we celebrated friendships that blossomed over the past weeks together. We started the day painting yoga mats in the sun, so each girl can take hers home to create a personal space to relax, reflect, and be her authentic self.

We closed out our session by blending unique essential oil combinations based on what each person needed most. It was a beautiful way to share about our emotions and enjoy the creation process as well.

One of our participants said, “Soul Models is a great after school activity that is available to our whole community. I love all of the fun and awesome facilitators. It's just a great place to be!”

We provide an environment where girls are encouraged to speak up, stand tall, and shine - counteracting a world that often pushes them to conform, compare, and diminish themselves. Soul Models is hiring a full-time Program & Operations Manager. This role is integral to both program delivery and organizational operations, including: supporting program development, facilitator organization, and community engagement, while also managing administrative systems, communications, and marketing efforts.

This is an ideal role for someone who is both mission-driven and detail-oriented; someone who can think big picture while executing day-to-day logistics that support empowering middle school girls across the Seacoast region.

Week 7 brought together money smarts and creativity.

Jenna joined us at Shapleigh to lead a session on personal finance, where we talked about income, expenses, and how to build a budget. The girls put their skills into practice by creating mock budgets for Stitch from Lilo & Stitch and then created a budget for themselves. It sparked great conversations about dream jobs, future goals, and what they want to save for.

At Oyster River, Karen led a mosaic heart magnet project. Using different materials (and safety goggles!), the girls customized their designs and talked about their artistic vision along the way. Many shared that the process felt calming, and they loved the feeling of completeness once their hearts were finished.

Practical life skills and creative expression - the perfect combination. ✨💛
