The Rotary Club of Kittery's next topic in our ongoing Lecture Series is "The PROBLEM with PLASTIC". This lecture is a public service announcement alerting people to the dangers posed by PLASTICS!

Anyone who cares about the future should attend this lecture because we are creating permanent damage to this planet, and maybe the first man-made extinction event.

See you there on Tuesday at the KCC, FREE ADMISSION!!

Congratulations to our latest Traip Academy and Shapleigh Middle School Students of the Month! Thanks to the school teachers for their words of praise, we’re impressed!!

Each student received a certificate; a Rotary Challenge Coin and they each signed a book that will be enshrined in the school library. A yummy breakfast was served by the awesome Traip Cafeteria crew for the students, their families and all attendees.

Zakoi Arsenault, the Traip Honoree, and Luca Moretti, from Shapleigh, are shown below, grateful for the recognition and happy for each other!

Here's our monthly Footprints Adopt-a-Shelf commodity delivery video with our Rotarians and the After-Hours Club. It took a few takes (and some unfortunate drops) to get it right. ENJOY!!
This month it's birthday cake kits, drop a comment if you'd like to help!

Nellie, you are wonderful!
Thank you for all you do!!
Congratulations on this big award!!!

🎉Congratulations to the winner for Young Maine Volunteer of the Year, Nellie Young!
The young people of Maine consistently show such heart and care for their communities and Nellie is a perfect example. Research shows that if young people engage in volunteerism from a young age, they are more likely to volunteer throughout their lives -- and we at Volunteer Maine can see Nellie serving for 40+ years just like our Maine Volunteer of the Year, Anne Behnke! Come support Nellie and our other awardees on May 9th and recognize the time and dedication they give to their communities.

✅Register to attend and celebrate here: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/governors-awards-for-service-and-volunteerism

🏆Recognizes a person 20 years old or younger who, through volunteer service, has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving the life of individuals or the community and, by example, shows the meaning of "active citizenship."

Image text: For nine years, Nellie Young has exemplified the qualities of this award: ambition, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to service. Nellie’s volunteer journey began in third grade with the Rotary Club of Kittery and she now innovates, organizes, and executes initiatives that benefit hundreds of people in her community. She has spearheaded international service projects in Peru supporting nurseries and culinary schools. Her dedication and energy touch both immediate needs and long-term community enrichment that make a profound difference in the community and the lives of those around her.

The Kittery Rotary Clubs' monthly "Adopt-a-Shelf" delivery at Footprints is always a fun event! This month we challenged our Rotarians to demonstrate some swagger. WOW! I am impressed! In blizzard conditions and not a drop of cooking oil spilled!

Our Community Heart Health Night on March 31st focused on women’s heart health awareness and prevention was a huge success. Many friends, neighbors and family members attended the event and were treated to four dynamic and knowledgeable speakers:

Cardiologist Dr. Brandei Wingard discussed Risk & Early Prevention

CPR Instructor Dean Auriemma covered CPR Guidelines & AED Awareness

Business Leader (and Kittery Rotarian) Maryna Shuliakouskaya explained the role of Stress on Heart Health

Registered Nurse (and Kittery Rotarian) Susan Czarnionka led the attendees in a simple, but effective Stress Relief exercise

Many thanks to our Sponsors as shown below and especially to Maryna who organized the event with the help of several Rotarians. Follow our page for more events like this one!
