V-MAT / Veterans Martial Arts Training

V-MAT / Veterans Martial Arts Training A FREE Martial Arts Program for US Military Veterans, Reserves and Active Duty - helping restore the Physical, Mental and Spiritual balance in daily life.

When a warrior comes home from battle, it is a difficult transition process that requires more than flipping a light switch to turn off that thought process. The camaraderie, sense of family, discipline and balance required in martial arts training are the same characteristics required to handle the stresses of daily life, as well as it’s more challenging situations. Students will learn the benefi

ts the martial arts has on the human mind, psyche and behavior. This calming effect is learned through the physical practice of traditional kata (forms), as well as breathing techniques, decision making skills - and the evaluation process of when to passively or actively defend ones self - or simply walk away. Martial Arts have been proven to assist in the physical, mental and spiritual stability of many issues, in all walks of life. Scott Lombardo Founded V-MAT in 2015 along with William Miller, an Army Veteran. They are well rounded in the culture, history and philosophy of the arts, in addition to the physical aspects of forms, sparring and self-defense. Our instructors are acutely aware of the benefits martial arts provide to every day life.

In memorium. 4 years ago today, our V-MAT founder Scott Lombardo passed away. We, the veterans of VMAT, had the honor of being his students and friends. Scott had a special passion for both martial arts and veterans. We will forever be grateful for Scott’s knowledge, leadership, and friendship. He is pictured below with his fellow senseis.
