A 14-day journey of some 320 miles came to an end Saturday in Lower Burrell. The 18th annual PA Hero Walk, which raises money to help Pennsylvania veterans in need, logged its final 8 mile stretch from Allegheny Township into Lower Burrell — stopping first at the former Rite Aid

Thank you everyone that turned out today! Here's a quick pic of the walkers that walked from Apollo to Vandergrift this evening! There will be many more pics and videos from this year's PA Hero Walk to come!

Tomorrow morning we will be starting out at the War Memorial in Allegheny Township around 8 am to walk to VFW Post 92 in Lower Burrell and officially complete the 18th Annual PA Hero Walk to benefit PA veterans! All are welcome to join us for the whole walk, or for those who would like to walk the last mile, we will be meeting up in the old Rite Aid parking lot in Lower Burrell at 10:30 am-ish and then stepping off again at 11am from there to finish the walk.

There is still time to head over to the Blairsville VFW Post 5821if you're in the area and catch the PA Hero Walk walkers as they come in to end their day today.

Coming up for tomorrow, Friday June 19th our Hero Walkers will be heading g out bright and early from Blairsville and heading to Vandergrift!

For anyone wanting to great the along the route, they will be coming down past the Conemaugh cemetery down the hill into Saltsburg, making a left at the Shop N Save and stopping for lunch at the Saltsburg VFD at approximately 12:30.

After lunch the crew will head into Apollo via 819, arriving at the Apollo Plaza in the afternoon for a stop to cool down. This is a great chance for everyone to meet up, grab a shirt and hat, and fall in line to walk the KISKI VALLEY HOMETOWN HERO WALK beginning at 5 PM over to American Legion Post 114, Vandergrift, PA, where all are welcome to stop by, say hello, have some drinks and hang out for a while. :)

Saturday Morning at 8:15 AM begins the final day of the 18th Annual 2026 PA Hero Walk - From Philly to Pittsburgh! walkers and anyone wanting to walk along leaving the War Memorial near the Giant Eagle in Allegheny Township to Arrive at 11 am at the old Rite-Aid parking lot in Lower Burrell before proceeding on to VFW Post 92, Wildlife Lodge Road, Lower Burrell for the official end of this year's walk. All are welcome, and we will have a shuttle running from the VFW Post to Rite Aid as usual. :) See you there!
