✨ “That trip became one of the biggest memories of our childhood together.”
Lorena and her family stayed at the Village in 1999.
From Lorena: “I personally only have small flashbacks from those beautiful days, but they have stayed in my heart through the years. I will always remember the Sleeping Tree and how breathtaking and grand the Castle of Miracles felt to me as a child.”
From Lorena’s mother, Neyda: “Give Kids The World Village is a blessing from God; proof that earthly angels truly exist. People devoted to bringing joy to the hearts and lives of children who suffer or have suffered from a serious illness.
Thank you, Give Kids The World Village, for existing, for giving, for encouraging, and for creating such a valuable space. When I look at the photographs taken during that week, I feel a peaceful joy. Those vacations were, and will always be, the best we have ever had. I love you.”
From Lorena’s sister, Leonela: “That trip became one of the biggest memories of our childhood together. I remember the thrill of the plane ride, the 'princess treatment' we received, the teddy bear we found on our beds the first day, and my mom gently reminding me that this joy was all thanks to my sister’s bravery. Every night at the Give Kids the World Village, we’d fall into bed exhausted and happy, and I’d whisper to Lorena about which toys we were going to play with the next day.
Seeing my sister now, standing tall after every battle she has fought, my admiration for her is through the roof. She isn't just a survivor; she is a warrior. I am eternally grateful to the foundation for giving us those priceless moments where we could just be sisters, surrounded by magic instead of medicine."
