International Society of Caricature Artists - ISCA The International Society of Caricature Artists ISCA was formed in 1989 by Wallace "Buddy" Rose.

Buddy created a forum for caricaturists by providing a quarterly newsletter and annual convention. The original goal was to create an organization that would seek out charitable and mutual benefits for united artists. It operated briefly as a booking agency until filing its application in compliance with article 5154a making it a trade union in 1994. In 1995 the new constitution was ratified in Sa

n Antonio, TX, ISCA was granted non-profit status, and the first election was held. In 2009, ISCA officially changed its name from the National Caricaturist Network to the International Society of Caricature Artists and ratified a new constitution.

ISCA’s Executive Director, Courtney, and President, Kelsey are continuing to potential future ISCAcon site visits!

Over the past 4 days, they have taken 6 flights, had 2 layovers, 1 cancelled flight, 4 delayed flights, and walked an average of 3 miles each day through sites and airports.

These photos completely give away their stops, at least to them…

Any guesses on where these are from?

ISCA’s Executive Director, Courtney, and President, Kelsey, are visiting potential future ISCAcon sites this week. Here is a sneak peek of where they have recalled so far this week. Any guesses (or wishes) of where they are?

More photos will be shared throughout the remainder of this week!

Why we do site visits:
- It allows us to look at details that are critical to our conference in person. How many wall spaces we can create, options for classroom sizes and setups, talk directly with AV teams, negotiate contract details and pricing, ensure the site understands the details of our member needs.
- We can test ballroom walls for tape use. Yes, we literally stick blue painters tape to the ballroom wall, finish the facility tour, and then come back to see if the tape is still in place.
- We can begin building positive rapport with facility contacts.
- Touring the local area helps us find fun places, local resources, and get a better feel for the general area. Many of our attendees come in early or stay after the con to explore the area.
- Getting negotiated rates and refining details allows ISCA to be financially responsible and stable in the planning process.
