Kitten update!
All 3 kittens are doing well. Pearline and Stack (pictured together) are both eating wet food alongside their milk which is fantastic. They also weigh about 12-13 ounces each which is a little below where I’d like them to be but not unexpected since they were so thin when I got them.
Smoke is resistant to wet food but still trying it. He is a much more incessant kitten when it comes to suckling to eat/self-soothe so I’m not surprised. It’s a process we’re working through.
Speaking of suckling, Smoke is temporarily separated from his siblings because he would not stop trying to suckle on them. I caught it and intervened before anything could happen to cause damage; bottle baby kittens suckling on one another isn’t entirely unexpected but also is still very serious and needs to be dealt with promptly. That’s why they’re separated (but can still interact through their playpens) and will get supervised time together for the next 7-10 days until reintroductions are possible. Not the complication I wanted to manage this week, but not exactly an unexpected one either. 😅
