The rose garden hedges haven’t looked this good in decades! Our appreciation to The Eckliff Group for a February dormant pruning and the Huntington Bank volunteers who worked so hard on them at this year’s Lake County United Way Day of Caring giving them a much needed trim.

While the June bloom is over the garden is still very beautiful.

The entire rose garden was mulched, a major pruning of the pergola and extensive weeding and thinning of perennials in the formal garden. What a tremendous amount of work was done at Key’s 30th year of working at the Mooreland historic gardens for Neighbors Make the Difference! 😊

The volunteers have been working extremely hard to get the gardens in shape for a very busy event season this year. There’s always so much to do but we’re looking forward to Mother Nature doing her part so we can get the annuals planted in May so that the gardens can explode with color!

The Mooreland gardeners are working hard to get everything in shape for a busy event season but we couldn’t do it without the help of some young able bodied people. Our deepest appreciation to Evan from Perry High for giving up his Sunday afternoon to clean up numerous loads of pruned cuttings in the rose garden. It’s a prickly job but he was up for it!
