4:40 am Update:

While a Level 3 severe weather threat remains in place for today, there now appears to be 2 periods of concern. One will be from mid morning through midday, then late afternoon through the evening. With the morning/midday storms, the main threats would be scattered wind damage and a few areas of flash flooding.

The extent of the afternoon and evening storms will depend on how fast the midday activity diminishes, but the timing of it still looks to be late afternoon through the evening. The morning storms will lay out an east-west boundary near or south of I-72, and the higher tornado risk will be south of there.

Another busy and productive day for Central Warren County FPD firefighters.
Captain Payton Crain and Firefighter Ashton Toal traveled to test for the Monmouth Fire Department, where they completed both an agility and written exam. They will be notified in the coming days regarding placement on the eligibility list. We wish them the best of luck as they take this next step in their fire service careers.
At the same time, Probationary Firefighter Milo Martin, along with Firefighter Explorers Bentlee Cook and Tyler Damewood, attended the Explorer/Cadet Field Training in Colona, Illinois. This one-day “Down and Dirty” fire service youth training provided hands-on experience under IFSI instructor supervision.
Participants trained in essential firefighting skills including hose and appliances, SCBA, fire behavior, search and rescue, ladders, and hand tools. More importantly, they gained valuable experience in teamwork, leadership, and followership.
We are proud of all of our members for their continued dedication to training, growth, and serving their communities.
