Pantry for Adair County PAC The Pantry for Adair County provides supplemental food to the food insecure in Adair County, Missouri. Bring your photo ID to 2012 S Halliburton St, Kirksville.

We distribute food Tuesdays 4-6pm, Wednesdays and Fridays 1-3pm. Our Purpose: The purpose of the Pantry for Adair County (PAC) is to assist in providing supplemental food for those food insecure residents of Adair County, MO. PAC intends to distribute fresh produce as available, meats, and other grocery products, using the Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri (the Food Bank) as a primary resource, along with local donations from groceries and individuals.

The folks from Spirit FM are showing up at the PAC this Thursday from 11AM-1PM for Missouri's Biggest Food Drive! See the faces that belong to your favorite Spirit FM voices and donate food to meet community needs.

The first 26 friends that bring non-perishable food items will get a limited-edition Spirit FM t-shirt.

You will be a blessing as you help stock local shelves for families in need this holiday season.

Every month, Pantry for Adair County helps more than 625 households and 1,500 individuals in our community access the food they need. Now, we’re working to improve our facility so we can better serve our neighbors for years to come.

Our planned improvements include:
✅ Restroom and handwashing facilities
✅ A safe, health-inspected workspace to repackage bulk food
✅ A better environment for our dedicated volunteers and the people we serve

The project will cost approximately $300,000, and we’re already more than halfway to our goal! We need to raise approximately $150,000 more to make these essential improvements a reality.

Volunteer Spotlight: Sophia McClure
Each semester a handful of Truman students serve our community at the PAC. Over a year ago, Sophia McClure joined our team of volunteers and in September she started her second year with us. She enjoys working at the cooler during distribution, but just recently is learning to take neighbors' orders at the booth, and she likes that role too. Sophia says, "It’s good, fulfilling work that has a real impact on the community. All the other volunteers are such a fun and friendly group! I look forward to coming every week!" Thanks to Sophia for being a friendly face at the PAC - we love having her and the other Truman students who help us out each week.

When I first saw vacuum-packed hard-boiled eggs in the grocer’s cooler I thought, “REALLY? How can that be?” Confusion because of hard, smelly lessons learned in a childhood kitchen.
But I bought them. And they were fine. For more than a few days.

Recently we got a shipment of hardboiled eggs from our food bank, to share with community-members; read this article to learn more about their safety.

The milk we receive from The Food Bank is often Ultra-Pasteurized, as opposed to the typical Pasteurization process used for most grocery store milk. It is helpful to understand the differences in shelf life and taste. Regardless of the pasteurization process, milk should generally be consumed within a week of opening, and above all, if it looks or smells bad, throw it out.

What a LOAD! Lovegreen Motors just delivered over a 1000lbs of food gathered through their annual food drive! Their goal was 400lb. . . but with so much community support they blew that goal WAY out of the SHOWROOM. Thanks for helping stock our shelves with our community's favorites!

As garden season comes to a close and fall sets in, PAC shares more shelf stable fruits and vegetables in our distributions. When you do your grocery shopping this week, would you grab some canned fruits and veggies for your neighbors struggling with food insecurity? Stocking PAC's shelves stocks the pantries of your Adair County neighbors.
Donations can be dropped of Tuesdays from 2-3:30pm, and Wednesdays and Fridays from 11am -12:30pm. Or call to arrange a drop off time that works for you!
