It was Bring your Son to Work Day at the pantry today! I’m so thankful for the big maintenance tasks we got done on the walk-in cooler and freezer and power washing the benches and warehouse floor! Thanks, Gus! 😊

When Gary Bradley dropped off dozens of little veggie starts that he didn’t have room for in his garden he told me his gardening hobby had gotten a little out of control.
Extra pepper and tomato plants doesn’t seem like the worst problem to have though and I’m so grateful he decided to share them with our community members who visit the Pantry.

Canned Beans are on the top of our wish list for June: High in protein and a great compliment to other summer foods we love! We say "yes" to baked beans, but that's not all - refried beans, chili beans, black beans, great northern - we welcome them all at the pantry. Thanks for thinking of us on your next shopping trip!
Our donation hours are Tuesday 2-3:30pm, Wednesday and Fridays 11am-12:30pm, or call for a donation appointment (660-341-3955).

The arrival of all these greens from Truman State University Farm makes it feel like summer is in full swing. Thanks to Justin Wiles, farm manager, and his crew of summer student help for sharing their generous harvest with us.

Volunteer Spotlight: April Mathews
April has been volunteering at the PAC for about a year and half. Her retail and food service work experience give her great skills for keeping the freezer department cold and organized! On the days she isn't volunteering at the PAC she is busy - traveling to visit their new grandson and family, or camping. April also loves to quilt and biking. April wants you to know that - thanks to our generous community - the PAC gives out a lot of food! and it is a great time to try out volunteering. Giving just 1.5 hours of your time can really help. https://www.pacfood.org/volunteer
Please help me thank April for her service to our community.
