The Optimist Club was honored to hear a moving presentation about the recent Honor Flight in which members Dave England and Kelley Snipes participated in April 2026. They shared heartfelt reflections and fun memories from their journey to Washington, D.C., honoring veterans and celebrating their service. Their stories offered a powerful reminder of gratitude, patriotism, and the importance of recognizing those who have served our nation. Thank you, gentlemen!

Thanks to everyone who came out to support Special Olympics last Saturday at Kirksvile High School track! Also thanks to the athletes, parents, spectators, and buddies who donated to the tip jar for Patty Sutton. Optimist member, Traci Lawrence was able to present a card with the tips to Patty at “Party with Patty” at Sip Thursday night.

The Kirksville Optimist Club will be out cheering and hosting the concession stand at the North Area Special Olympics games for all athletes, families, and fans this Saturday April 18th at Spainhower field in Kirksville. We would love to see you there! We will also have cards available for anyone to write a note to Kirksville athlete, Patty Sutton, who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Please stop by the concession stand to write a note to Patty and we will mail it for you! Thanks!
