Demand-Response System

Kirk-Tran uses a demand-response system where point to point riders are scheduled in advance by calling the dispatch center. to 6 p.m.

This system operates from 6 a.m. and travels within a 15 mile radius of downtown Kirksville. To schedule a ride, call 660.665.8404 or 877.666.KIRK, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. & 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Fare - $2.00 per one way trip anywhere inside the Kirksville city limits; $3.00 per one-way trip outside of Kirksville city limits within a 15 mile radius of downtown Kirksville. Children

under 12 years of age, accompanied by a parent or guardian, ride free of charge. Deviated Fixed Route

The Deviated Fixed Route operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and includes the following stops. The route will repeat this schedule every thirty minutes. Times may vary by 10 minutes before or after scheduled time. Fare - $2.00 per one-way trip. Purchase a booklet of 10 tickets for $15.00. Booklets can be purchased from the Deviated Fixed Route Driver or Kirksville City Hall. You must have exact change for fares or to purchase booklets. Children 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Children 5 and under ride free. Kirk-Tran is a Deviated Fixed Route bus service. This means that in addition to boarding the bus at the specified stops listed on this bus schedule, passengers that cannot get to a bus stop can request to be picked up and dropped off up to ¾ of a mile off the bus route. The pickup and drop off locations will be at the curb. Reservations must be made in advance, at least the day before, by calling the Kirk-Tran Office @ 877-666-5475. Kirk-Tran Deviated Fixed Route

Kirk Tran Announces Increase in Rider Fares
Effective September 1, 2022

Due to on-going increase in their costs, Kirk-Tran will be increasing the cost of each one-way trip by $1.00, effective September 1, 2022. Customers will still be able to enjoy the multiple Kirk-Tran routes offered. However, the Board of Directors has had to make the difficult decision to change the rate of each ride from $2 inside the City limits to $3 and from $3 outside the city limits, but within a 15 mile radius of downtown, to $4 per one-way trip.

“Like most organizations, inflationary costs have placed undue pressure on our budget. We must take this step to ensure the future of our services. While we recognize the potential impact on our customers, we remain committed to providing affordable, accessible, and reliable transportation and still believe our new rates align with those principles”, said Ruby Watson, President of the Board.

Fortunately, this change in fares will not require a change in our current Kirk Tran punch cards. They remain available for purchase and if you have already purchased punch cards they will still be accepted.

Kirk-Tran Transportation has 2 tickets for Saturday, May 28 @ 1:15 pm game against the Milwaukee Brewers--This day 25,000 fans, ages 16 and older will take home a stainless steel tumbler featuring Yadier Molina, courtesy of Coca-Cola and QuikTrip. Kirk-Tran is offering these 2 tickets for auction...rules are simple...the bidding will start at $50 for 2 tickets and must be increased in increments of $5. Only bids placed on original post on Kirk-Tran page will be counted. We will continue to take bids until 9 am, Monday, May 23. At that time the winning bidder will be notified. All proceeds will go to the United Way of Northeast Missouri.

The United Way of Northeast Missouri received a check today for $1000 from our partner agency, Kirk-Tran. This edges us ever closer to our end of year goal.
