On Monday evening, leaders came together during the City Council Study Session on Economic Development to share the work being done to strengthen our community and support continued growth.

Representing economic development, business support, tourism, downtown revitalization, and community engagement were:
• Anastasia Tiedemann – Executive Director MREIC, K-REDI, and SBDC
• Laci Cook – Executive Director, Main Street Kirksville
• Marie Murphree – Executive Director, Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce
• Sharon Swehla – Tourism Director, City of Kirksville

Together, we highlighted the accomplishments of 2025 and early 2026, shared ongoing initiatives, and discussed how our organizations are working in partnership to attract investment, support local businesses, increase tourism, create vibrant public spaces, and enhance quality of life in Kirksville.

When organizations work together toward a common vision, our entire community benefits. We are proud to collaborate, support one another, and continue building a stronger future for Downtown Kirksville and the greater Kirksville community.
