Arsenic and Old Lace calls for 14 actors, and our cast has been rehearsing since August. They're friends and neighbors from right here in the community, joined by a crew of volunteers building sets and hunting down props.

Theatre legend has it that Joseph Kesselring first imagined Arsenic and Old Lace as a serious, dark thriller. 🕸️

The producers read it and saw something else: a comedy. With some reworking, a creepy story about murderous aunts became one of the best-loved comedies ever written.

Tonight Curtain Call presents DOUBLE INDEMNITY, Billy Wilder's 1944 masterpiece and one of the films that INVENTED film noir. Fred MacMurray as an insurance man who should've known better. Barbara Stanwyck as the woman who talks him into murder. Shadows, ci******es, and a scheme that was never going to work.

You may know the movie. 🎬

Frank Capra filmed Arsenic and Old Lace with Cary Grant as Mortimer back in 1941. But the studio's deal said the film couldn't be released until the Broadway run ended. The play was such a hit that moviegoers had to wait until 1944.

The movie is a classic. The stage version is even better, because it's happening right in front of you.
