Please join the group to connect with others who love the park! The park is located in the northeast part of the city, in the Kingsgate area, at the corner of NE 132nd Street and 132nd Avenue NE (hence the name!). The 9.76 acre park features two baseball fields, a soccer field, restrooms, picnic area, a walking path, a reflexology path, and a great playground and swings. Friends and neighbors of t
he park, including the Totem Lake Neighborhood Association, raised money, obtained grants, and contributed a large amount of volunteer labor to bring the new playground and swings to the park. The City of Kirkland owns the park and has responsibility for its operations and maintenance. It was transferred from King County when the annexation of Kingsgate into Kirkland became effective in 2011. Starting in mid-2021, the park is undergoing a major makeover. A stormwater retention vault is being constructed under the large playing field, which will reduce polluted runoff entering Totem Lake and Juanita Creek; it will also help reduce the risk of landslides on the hill to the south. A new lighted artificial turf playing field will be built on top of the stormwater vault. The parking lot will be expanded, all walking paths upgraded, more picnic shelters added, and new playground equipment installed. The project should be completed in mid-2022.
