Upasana is a registered Nonprofit as a public charity with the IRS. The school has generously donated a net total of $50,000 until now over the past 10 years. The recipients of this amount were: Genesis foundation, Solace, Seattle Children’s hospital, Banyan foundation, Lukemia foundation, CMDRF, Art lovers of America, Kerala association of Washington, Beneficiaries through Care and Share that include but not limited to- Holy cross special school, Adarsh special school etc. and beneficiaries through KAW charities.

This also includes Upasana’s donations to various Art initiatives by CCR (now C**A), Seatle Acme, Kerala Association of Washington’s venture- Kalopasana and the dance drama Mudranguleeyam, Param dance festival in collaboration with Kerala’s Ministry of cultural affairs, Kalandhika National Festival conducted by Kalandhika cultural society, Mohini dance school’s program- Kaisiki, Seattle Saptaswara’s concert- Ganolsavam etc.

In 2023, Upasana had their first Arangettam season, and a fundraiser was conducted alongside which raised around $18k,
This amount is part of the net total or $50K mentioned earlier.

This has been possible due to the kind support from our students and their parents. All the contributions made to the above initiatives were possible with the fees collected from the school’s students, subtracting the school’s expense. We also thank our Seattle community profusely for the Arangettam Fundraiser donations held in 2023.
