Last week, we had a visit to officers working the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle. This was our fourth year in a row visiting officers at Folklife, so it has become a tradition of sorts and we love it!

The Northwest Folklife Festival has been happening for 50+ years and draws thousands of people from all across region, making for a busy event for SPD officers working hard to make sure it is a safe event for everyone.

We loved meeting some officers for the first time and as always, loved seeing so many familiar faces. This event brings together officers from various units and precincts, so it is always great to see everyone.

A special shout-out to SPD's Seattle Center Unit (in the first photo 📸) for having us and for being such welcoming hosts -- they work specifically at Seattle City Center working Kraken games and all the many events at Seattle City Center throughout the year. We are so grateful for everything they do 🙏🏻

To all the officers working Folklife, we hope the goodies were enjoyed and served as a tangible reminder that you are seen, valued and supported.

Round 2 for Kirkland PD 🚔

Not only were we able to be there during the day for a celebratory visit, but we loved the opportunity to come back for the night shift squads.

We often miss night shift officers during our visits, so it meant a lot to us to have the opportunity to be at night shift briefing to say 'THANK YOU' to all the officers who work hard all night long.

A big thank you to both night shift squads for having us and we hope all the goodies reminded you that you are seen, valued and supported. Thank you for all you sacrifice to serve and protect the Kirkland community.

Round 1 for Kirkland PD 🙌🏻🚔

As we celebrate Blue Hero Project turning 5, we were excited to celebrate with our home department.

When our family started Blue Hero Project back in 2021, we started with the support of our own department family and they've been there every step along the way.

Whether it's been fellow officers purchasing merch or connecting us with a local training or donating towards a giving campaign, we are so grateful for our home agency and all the love and support they've shown us.

Without these very people supporting us and cheering us on, we wouldn't be able to go out and serve agencies across the state as we do. It all starts at HOME and that includes our home agency.

To everyone at Kirkland PD, thank you! We will never have the words to adequately express our gratitude -- and thank you for all your hard work and for all the ways you serve the Kirkland community. We honor you for the sacrifices you make and hope you all enjoyed the goodies!

We love these warm sunny days ☀️
But they also mark the beginning of the season of loading and unloading… and more loading and unloading 😅

During the colder months, we usually keep snack and drinks in the car overnight for our agency visits the next day ... But with warmer temps officially here, last night was our first “bring absolutely everything inside” night of the season.

No more conveniently chilled drinks thanks to cold overnight temps 😩 Hello to carrying all the goodies back and forth to avoid melted snacks and warm ☀️🚗

Join us as we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice this Peace Officers Memorial Day 🙏🏻💙

National Police Week was established by President John F. Kennedy, along with the designation of May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Each year, thousands of law enforcement officers, survivors, and supporters gather in Washington, D.C. for a week of remembrance, ceremonies, education and honor during National Police Week.

At Blue Hero Project, we honor the courage, service, and sacrifice of law enforcement officers and their families across our nation. Today, we remember the fallen and pray for every family, friend, and agency grieving the loss of a loved one.

5 years, y’all 😭💙🎉

I (Diane) have so many emotions as we celebrate 5 years of Blue Hero Project today -- more than anything, I just feel so incredibly grateful.

As many of you know, BHP started as a one-time community project on May 11th, 2021. I still remember sitting in our apartment living room, nervously hitting “post” on Instagram and hoping to raise $300 for one Seattle precinct. I had no idea the plans God had for this little project 🤯😭

Now, 5 years later, we’ve raised thousands of dollars, completed 150+ agency visits and hosted 10+ law enforcement family day events 🙌🏻💙

What started as a small idea (thanks 🥹) has grown into a community of people who believe in showing our law enforcement that they are seen, valued and supported — and this milestone belongs to our entire BHP community.

To every donor, volunteer, board member, law enforcement agency, business sponsor, prayer warrior and supporter who has shown up over the last 5 years: thank you. Truly. Blue Hero Project exists because people like YOU have continued to say yes to this mission over and over again 💙

📸 This post is especially meaningful because it highlights some of the incredible people who have helped shape BHP over the last 5 years. Every person and family pictured represents the heart behind our work — the countless hours, sacrifices, prayers, encouragement and behind-the-scenes service that have made it all possible.
