Last week was very special ๐Ÿฅน

Chief Barnes presented Xander and Everly with the Ingenuity Award for their work over the years serving SPD through Blue Hero Project.

Swipe to the 2nd photo to see the kids with Adam, who nominated them for the award. He felt it was important for the kids to be recognized for all their hard work with BHP and words cannot express how meaningful that nomination was to our family.

We surprised the kids on the way to a 'visit to the Chief's office' -- we asked the kids to put together goodie bags for the Chief's Office for a BHP visit and they did just that! Little did they know, they'd be handing out those little goodie bags to everyone attending the awards presentation.

A big thank you to everyone at Seattle PD for always making the kids feel welcome and seen over the years. I've lost track of the number of times officers and professional staff have gone above and beyond to made the kids feel special during our visits and it's always so sweet -- from stickers to popsicles at roll call to trying on equipment to precinct tours ... SPD as a whole has really made a special impact on the kids.

Thank you to Chief Barnes for presenting the award to the kids, to every Captain and Chief for celebrating them and a big thank you to Adam for thinking of them and nominating them for this special award. And thank you to the SPD Photo Unit for the great pictures ๐Ÿ“ธ

It's something they'll never forget and for that I'm so incredibly grateful.

Fourth Stop: Bothell PD ๐Ÿ’™

We first visited Bothell PD in June 2021 and since that very first visit, weโ€™ve had the honor of returning five times ๐Ÿš”

Not only have we been able to support their agency through our visits, but Bothell PD also hosted their own internal snack drive to help support our mission ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป Officers and staff came together to donate an incredible variety of snacks and drinks for us to deliver to other agencies and their generosity truly blew us away. ๐Ÿฅน

Our connection with Bothell PD began through a family friend who was an officer there at the time and helped coordinate that very first visit. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป Over the past five years, he and his wife (๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป the Patersons) have been incredible supporters of Blue Hero Project and our family. We are so grateful for their friendship, encouragement and support from the very beginning.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to visit with us -- We loved celebrating five years of serving the law enforcement community alongside your agency ๐Ÿš”

It has been 5 years since our community lost its very own Wonder Woman, Officer Lexi Brenneman Harris.

Our family didnโ€™t know Lexi personally, but over the past five years it has been an honor to learn about the woman she was and the life she lived through the words and stories shared by her family, friends and fellow officers.

No matter who we talk to, Officer Lexi Harris has always been described the same way: compassionate, hardworking, determined, disciplined, passionate, empathetic, and a loyal and committed friend, mentor and leader. Fellow officers and friends have shared about her sense of humor and her special ability to put people at ease when sheโ€™d respond to calls and also her passion to build a bridge between the community and law enforcement through difficult, but necessary, conversations. It is obvious that she loved her family well, impacted her department in such a significant way and cared deeply for the city of Seattle.

On this EOW anniversary, we remember and honor Officer Lexi Brenneman Harris and pray for her family, for her friends, for the Seattle PD community and all who knew and loved her.

Third Stop: Bellevue PD ๐Ÿ’™

We first visited Bellevue PD in June 2021 and since that very first visit, weโ€™ve had the honor of visiting a total of six times.

Our connection with Bellevue PD began through , who graciously helped coordinate that first visit. Over the past five years, he has been an incredible supporter of Blue Hero Project and our family and we are so grateful for his friendship and support from the very beginning.

๐Ÿš” First Stop: Tacoma PD ๐Ÿ’™

Our very first agency visit was to Tacoma PD in June 2021โ€”and since that day, weโ€™ve had the honor of visiting five times! ๐ŸŽ‰

Our connection to Tacoma PD actually began through , a local law enforcement spouse who inspired the creation of Blue Hero Project. She was raising funds to provide snacks for local agencies and she encouraged others to do the same. When we first started raising money, we reached out to her and she connected us with Tacoma PD ๐Ÿ’™

A special thank you to Sgt. Correa and Officer Boyd for welcoming us back to Tacoma PD last week and allowing us to celebrate this milestone with your agency. We are grateful for TPD's continued partnership and support over the past five years! ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ’™

Last week we spent a whole day visiting the first 5 agencies we visited back in 2021.

We started with a morning visit to Tacoma PD and from there we hit the road and headed north, ending our day with Seattle PD.

As we celebrate 5 years of serving our law enforcement community, we wanted to take time to personally thank those agencies who opened their doors to us back before we even had a name.

We will have more to come to highlight each individual visit, but for now ... A big thank you to Tacoma PD, Kent PD, Bellevue PD, Bothell PD and Seattle PD for allowing our team to celebrate 5 years with you all.

Behind every officer is a family that serves, sacrifices and supports from home.

Today, we lift up our law enforcement spouses in prayer. May they be filled with His perfect peace and reminded that they are never walking this journey alone.

If youโ€™re a law enforcement spouse, thank you for your support and sacrifice. You are seen, valued and supported.

Join us in praying for the spouses who stand beside those who serve our communities every day ๐Ÿ’™

Last week, we had a visit to officers working the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle. This was our fourth year in a row visiting officers at Folklife, so it has become a tradition of sorts and we love it!

The Northwest Folklife Festival has been happening for 50+ years and draws thousands of people from all across region, making for a busy event for SPD officers working hard to make sure it is a safe event for everyone.

We loved meeting some officers for the first time and as always, loved seeing so many familiar faces. This event brings together officers from various units and precincts, so it is always great to see everyone.

A special shout-out to SPD's Seattle Center Unit (in the first photo ๐Ÿ“ธ) for having us and for being such welcoming hosts -- they work specifically at Seattle City Center working Kraken games and all the many events at Seattle City Center throughout the year. We are so grateful for everything they do ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

To all the officers working Folklife, we hope the goodies were enjoyed and served as a tangible reminder that you are seen, valued and supported.

To our donors, THANK YOU! 40+ officers work each day of the event and you helped us show them support and appreciation through meat sticks, gum, trail mix, Celsius and so much more!
