A 2-day Eagle Project helping Food Bank Farms rebuild after the floods this winter. Our scout led a team to rebuild one of their greenhouses. We love that this will be used to grow fresh produce for people in need.

A continuation from an earlier Eagle Project that removed invasive blackberry and ivy from Fisk Park in December. Our scout has chosen to pursue the Scouting America Distinguished Conservation Service Award and go a step beyond. Today they replanted the area, and now they will study the impact of their work on the local bee population weekly for the next few months. We are sure the bees will be happy to see the improvements in this park!

Pre-Camporee campout for the troop to learn outdoor skills. Lots of first time campers. Scouts enjoyed Ax/saw/knife safety, knots, flags, orienteering, first aid, fire making, cooking, Dutch oven and ended Saturday night with a small campfire. Dess
ert contest was a hit with the scouters.

Snowsport weekend! Scouts went skiing at Snoqualmie Pass as well as
Snowshoeing at Blewett Pass. They were also able to start their snow sports merit badge. Fun times and glad they got snow this week Snoqualmie Pass Blewett PassAlpental

We came together to support Elsa’s Eagle Scout project building 2 outdoor tables and a whiteboard for the nonprofit Les Lilas French Bilingual Community School. The area was impacted with recent storms and floods. The school will be able to hold outdoor classes moving forward. It started raining but cleared up. Scout spirit was shown throughout the whole process. Thank you to all the volunteers who contributed.

Please support Dunn Lumber and Bothell Home Depot who donated the supplies.

Another great year of tree recycling and thank you to the community as well as the scouts for all the work that went into tree recycling. Roughly 425-450 Trees were donated. The compost is utilized in the city of Kirkland parks.

Thank you Asplundh for the help in chipping the trees.

As 2025 comes to an end, Troop 8570 is happy to have completed one more Eagle Project. This time we were at Fisk Family Park (located just north of Google on the Cross Kirkland Corridor). We removed a ton of ivy and blackberry, both invasive species, and spread mulch to help stop it from regrowing.

Here's a fun opportunity for 4th and 5th graders to check out Troop 570 boys and girls. We'll cook a yummy lunch and then have a campfire program. Please RSVP by November 1st.

We are proud to announce another Eagle Project weekend. Our scouts worked hard replacing 2 gates designed to keep bikers out of the more fragile parts of St Edwards State Park. If you happen to hike the North Trail or South Ridge Trail make sure you take a look!
