Hello Lions Club and L I B Family, earlier today we lost a great executive director, friend, brother and humanitarian. Ray fought a good fight, until the Lord decided to call him home. Now it’s up to the rest of us to fight for the causes that Ray held dearly in his heart. So Rest In Peace my brother, until we meet again, you will be missed.

RIP Congressman Walter B. Jones a hard worker and fighter. He will be missed by both parties. I had the chance to visit his office, in April 2018 and was looking forward to another visit this May.

After 10 days of clean up by SERVPRO, drywall started on Thursday. Looks like about a 1-1/2 weeks on the restrooms and near Thanksgiving on the offices. A shout out to Lee Lanier (general contractor), PECO Electric, Stallings HVAC, and DATAGROUP. Also to the LIB employees who have contributed much time & energy to getting things back to normal.

Day 6 of clean-up brings a much needed break with cooler temps. ServPro's projected completion date for clean-up is Wednesday, 10/26. Hopefully, then the rebuild will begin. Seeing the install of insulation, drywall, paint, carpet and furniture will set us on the road to normalcy. Shout out to all LIB employees for pitching in during the big cleanup and all the kind words from everyone. Also, a shout out to BEO Portland & Sayre, Inc. for help in getting our orders completed.

Allowed to re-enter building this afternoon after city inspection - shout out to Amanda Conner gor pulling some strings and to Greg Dempsey for making his way from his house to LIB to do the inspection! Walked through to survey damage and open doors to allow some fresh air into the building. Looks as though we had just under a foot of water to enter the building. Thanks to everyone who helped to move stuff off the floor to a higher elevation. Won't know for a while, but damage could have been a whole lot worse.
