Lenoir County Civic Mission is a new organization coming to serve the Lenoir County youth and community. This organization strives to create an opportunity for high school students to engage in discussions concerning current events and participate in local public service activities. Through bi-monthly meetings, students will be exposed to relevant issues in public discourse and given an unbiased space for discussion with their peers. These meetings will contain opportunities for students to engage with local leaders, learn how to fruitfully discuss politics, and develop their own conclusions regarding their personal beliefs. Students will not only discuss political topics in American society but will develop problem-solving skills by developing their own projects responding to community-based needs.
