Wind River Cares Behavioral Health visited us this week. 🦬☀🙂

For the last few months we have been working with their Strengthening Generations group to support programing for young Native women! We have sponsored making concho belts and breast plates.

Pam Duran, our Associate Director, spoke to the group about what we've been working on and the importance of passing down cultural knowledge to younger generations.

Coming together to support the future of Tribal Conservation and Outdoor Leadership! 🦬

This month during 5 Buffalo Days, Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative put together the third annual Outdoor Leadership and Conservation Day. Around 15 different organizations from across the Wind River Indian Reservation and state of Wyoming spoke with students from Fort Washakie Schools about all the different career options available in conservation.

A big thank you to all the governmental agencies, organizations, and people who donated their time to teach our youth about the importance of water, land, and wildlife. This work is impossible without you.

Last Monday we hosted a Buffalo harvest for 5 Buffalo Days! 🦬

We had a blast having around 250 students from Fort Washakie Schools. Meat cutting, hide tanning, and processing made the day go by fast! Here are some snap shots of the event.

Thanks to the FWS Office of Indian Education for all the work to put on Manikit Bozhan Davay 🌻
