The Creativity Shell is a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to use creative trades to educate and inspire the next generation of makers. Our organization teaches sewing/textile arts classes to students in public libraries, schools and shelters that rescue children from homelessness and human trafficking. e children by teaching them essential life and practical skills. OUR BELIEF
There is no “one size fits all” method to education! As the use of technology continues to increase throughout the education system, the value of trades decrease. At the Creativity Shell, we believe that teaching our children the trades we know and use today will help them continue to thrive as a generation of makers instead of a generation of buyers. SENSE OF POSSIBILITY
Children are the leaders of the next generation which makes them earth’s most precious resources. MUTUAL RESPONSIBILITY
As adults, we can positively engage our children by understanding there is no “One size fit’s all” method to education. CREATIVE LEARNING
Children should have exposure to different learning methods. As they grow, they will naturally gravitate into the methods which best fits their learning style. There are many who view creative trades such as sewing or woodworking as a last resort to education…we see it as a complimentary addition. When children are free to explore the many talents around them, this helps to create well rounded children who can use their trades as an employment opportunity or a therapeutic hobby. POSITIVE INTERACTIONS
When we work together with other childcare organizations, we can all get to know and understand the different children that cross our paths, and help embrace or direct them to other paths along their journey into adulthood.

September is National Sewing Month, and we need your help to Sew It Forward!

If you sew, quilt, create, or simply believe these skills should be passed on, help the next generation of makers learn to sew too!

Our goal is to inspire 2,026 sewists to give $25 and help us raise $50,000 to support youth sewing programs, supplies, instruction, and opportunities for young makers.

Do you have a neurodiverse young adult, ages 18–24, who is looking to make new friends, build connections, and find a fun and unique way to socialize?

Our new "Creativity Knows" Young Adult Trivia Club is officially a GO, and we are SO excited to get started!

Our first meeting will be Thursday, September 3rd from 5:00 PM–6:00 PM at the Creativity Shell.

Our goal is to create 6 teams of 4–6 young adults so we can have a great game rotation while giving participants plenty of opportunities to meet new people, work together, laugh, socialize, and build genuine friendships.

This club is about so much more than trivia! It’s about creating a welcoming space where neurodiverse young adults can feel comfortable being themselves, practice social and teamwork skills, find their people, and have something FUN to look forward to each week.

CREATIVE THRIFTERS — WE’RE TAKING A LITTLE BREAK!

Just a reminder that the Creativity Lives Art • Craft • Sewing Re-Use Thrift Store will be CLOSED August 15–29 while we take some time to restock, reorganize, and get ready for Fall!

Join us again on September 5th for a fresh season of creative thrifting!

Come hunt for fabric, yarn, art supplies, craft materials, sewing treasures, and all kinds of creative finds just waiting for a second life.
