Yesterday, The Jason Los Foundation was so honored to present the 2026 SJS JLF Scholarship to two deserving rising 8th graders, Brooke Willis and Ethan Wherley. Rising 8th graders at SJS were invited to apply, and the JLF Scholarship Committee led by Board secretary CJ Gerbes, selected recipients based on their demonstration of service, leadership, character, and involvement within their school community. Both students have exemplified these qualities both inside and outside of the classroom.

JLF Board President Josh Straub, Treasurer Brooks Schuler, and Junior Board Member Alex Los had the honor of presenting the scholarships to these outstanding students. (video announcement In comments)

JLF was so honored to sponsor Camp Erin this past April in Montgomery County. Camp Erin is a weekend-long grief camp for children and teens ages 6–17 who have lost a significant person in their lives. The camp is offered free of charge and serves 50 children each year, providing a safe space for healing, connection, and support. 

Thank you to Eva Cowen, Camp Director, for allowing us to be part of this incredible initiative. Huge thanks as well to our own JLF Grief Support Committee member, Anna Lou Paniza, who volunteered her time to serve as the camp nurse throughout the weekend.

We are grateful for organizations like CaringMatters and Camp Erin Montgomery County that continue to provide hope, healing, and meaningful support for grieving children and families.
