The purpose of the Douglass Youth Center is to have an afterschool program that will promote education and positive enrichment activities for the student in order to develop their full potential and thus improving their quality of life in their community.

DYC students participating in STEAM activities facilitated by In the Game Funtrackers staff. Students got the opportunity to work in a team for “spaghetti bridge”-make a bridge using spaghetti and gumdrops, “make your own slime”, and create art using recyclable materials. Students then given time to eat and have fun on arcade games and other rides.

DYC After-school Tutoring End Celebration with a Harvest Dinner Party. The celebration menu included fresh fruits, vegetable, and a garden Salad, which was grown by the students in the After-school Tutoring and Gardening Program. We would like to thank Kleberg County AgriLife Extension Agent Zelinda Zavala, H.M.King High School students volunteers, parents, and grandparents, DYC board members Sabrina McGilbra-Williams and Derek Conley, DYC Advisory board member Delcia, and Mary Ayeni, DYC'S After-school Tutoring Teacher for all that they do to support Douglass Youth Center in their programs and activities throughout the school year and the summer.

Congratulations!

Kingsville Independent School District has named Marcus Graham as its new Athletic Director.

Graham brings more than two decades of Texas high school coaching experience to Kingsville. He currently serves as offensive coordinator at Port Arthur Memorial High School, a position he has held since 2023.

Prior to that, Graham was head football coach and campus coordinator at Beaumont United High School from 2020-22, leading the Timberwolves to back-to-back playoff appearances during his two seasons.

He also spent time at Duncanville High School during the 2019-20 season as an assistant coach, helping guide the Panthers to the Class 6A Division I state championship game.

From 2016-18, Graham served as head football coach and athletic coordinator at Socorro High School in Socorro Independent School District.

Before that, he spent more than a decade in El Paso Independent School District as head coach at Burges High School from 2005-16. Graham was named El Paso Coach of the Year in 2012 and led the Mustangs to three playoff appearances during his tenure.
