Boys & Girls Clubs of Red River Valley and Kingston Public Schools Announce Intent to Apply for 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant

KINGSTON, OK — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Red River Valley, in a strategic partnership with Kingston Public Schools, is proud to announce its intent to apply for the 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant funding for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year.

The 21st CCLC program is a federal initiative that supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools.

The proposed program aims to provide Kingston students with a safe, productive, and engaging environment after the school bell rings. If awarded, the funding will be used to establish comprehensive out-of-school-time programming, including:

Academic Support: Tailored tutoring and literacy programs to reinforce classroom learning.
STEM Initiatives: Hands-on projects in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Health & Wellness: Physical education, nutritional guidance, and mental health resources.
Arts & Culture: Opportunities for creative expression through music, drama, and visual arts.

"We are incredibly excited about the possibility of deepening our impact within the Kingston community," said Kam Sallee, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Red River Valley Oklahoma. "By combining the educational expertise of Kingston Public Schools with our proven youth development model, we can provide a holistic support system that helps every child reach their full potential."

Kingston Public Schools officials expressed similar enthusiasm for the joint venture, noting that the grant would fill a critical gap in local after-school resources and provide families with much-needed childcare and enrichment options.
