Ulster Habitat Restore Habitat ReStores are independently operated "reuse" stores.

We offer a diverse inventory of high-quality merchandise to the public at a fractions of the retail prices, and divert reusable furniture, and home goods from landfills. The ReStore is a discount furniture and home improvement center that sells donated materials at reduced prices to the general public. 100% of the profits support Ulster County Habitat for Humanity and help build homes and hope right here in Ulster County. The mission of the Restore is three-fold:

To keep usable building materials, home improvement products and appliances out of local landfills, saving valuable resources. To provide new and gently used home improvement materials, appliances, and furniture at affordable prices to everyone. To generate additional funds to build more Habitat Family Homes in Ulster County, allowing more families in need the ability to purchase a simple, decent affordable home.

LB, Maya, and Blake recently visited the for Humanity of Dutchess County ReStore for a field trip with a purpose. They swapped trade secrets, shared tips and tricks, compared notes, and came back with plenty of new ideas.

Our ReStores share the same mission, and seeing how another team runs its floor is a great way to bring fresh energy home to Ulster County.

Thanks ReStore of Habitat Dutchess!!

Meet Rich.

Rich does not wait to be asked twice.

A veteran, volunteer firefighter, and avid cyclist, Rich spends most of his time at the ReStore where he tests electronics and recreation equipment and handles small repairs. He is the kind of volunteer who keeps things moving behind the scenes, the one who figures out what is broken and fixes it before anyone else notices it was a problem.

When we need extra hands at the build site, Rich is the first to sign up. He gave up a few days for Women Build 2026 without hesitation.

And then there was the Victrola. Rich changed the needle and got it playing again. That is not in any job description. That is just Rich.

We are grateful for every hour he gives us. Want to learn more about becoming a volunteer? https://ulsterhabitat.org/volunteer/
