I'm Bryant Drew Andrews, honored to serve as your Alderman for Ward 7. Kingston, my home for two decades, has been a place of growth, community, and opportunity for me. I've raised my family, led a successful nonprofit, and found a sense of belonging in this beautiful city. Currently, I serve as the Executive Director of the Center for Creative Education, a nonprofit de
dicated to enriching our youth and community through arts, wellness, and education. I'm also the creator of DXF® - Dance Xross Fitness® and the founder of the award-winning Energy Dance Company. My journey began in Brooklyn and Staten Island, in neighborhoods facing economic challenges. When I wasn't dancing, I was giving back to my community, delivering food to seniors, participating in neighborhood clean-ups, and offering tutoring and mentorship to local youth. Becoming a father at 18 shifted my perspective, and I embraced early responsibility with gratitude. After working as a youth counselor, I moved to Kingston to provide a better environment for my family. I worked with incarcerated individuals in maximum-security facilities, all while continuing my education. In 2000, I fused my personal and professional experiences to create Unique Fitness, a center focused on keeping youth engaged and off the streets. In 2004, Unique Fitness merged with CCE, expanding its reach to over 2500 children annually. I've explored various businesses across New York City, but Kingston's warmth and acceptance drew me in. I hold degrees in Community and Human Services and have completed programs at Harvard Graduate School of Education and Stanford University in social entrepreneurship. In 2012, I was blessed with a grandson, who holds a special place in my heart. Now, you might ask why, with all my commitments, I want to serve as your Alderman. It's simple: my love for Kingston. This city embraced me, my family, and my business. I'm dedicated to Kingston's growth and aim to make it one of the best places to live. I want our children and grandchildren to return, contribute, and raise their families in this beautiful city.
