Had a nice conversation with someone at the Dutchess County Fair - Century Museum weaving demonstrations. I suggested that she read The Age of Homespun by Laurel Thatcher Ulrich. It's one of the books that gave us the idea to pull together this event a couple years ago. Save the date: March 20, 2027!!

Many, many thanks to the City of Kingston, Arts Society of Kingston, Dutchess County Sheep & Wool Growers Association, Ulster Savings Bank, all the fiber artists willing to share their enthusiasm, and those who came to see what we are up to, bringing history into the present. Thanks too, to my family for their support and assistance. Can we grow flax in City Hall??? ~cw

This pic was taken at the end of the day, last load out, last year. This year we will be there March 28, 2026, City Hall: All Was Done By Hand. Come meet the artisans & watch the textiles being made. Fleece to Shawl demo, great wheel, rug hooking, and even an AVL computer assisted loom. How's that for historical?
