Welcome to Gordon Elementary! Who is the Richard Gordon PTA? It is us. Quite simply, all of us. Parents. Guardians. Friends. Teachers and Staff. All of us who are here and invested in the children at the Richard Gordon Elementary School. Whether one is a registered member- voting on membership spending and activities, or an in

formal and infrequent member- we are all PTA . We learn, work, and play together. What is the Goal of the PTA? We strive to fully enrich each child’s experience at Richard Gordon Elementary School. This is done with purpose and heart, in collaboration with families and friends, teachers and staff, and our greater community. We do this because well supported children are able to grow their confidence and capabilities. With this, we joyfully support each child as they continue to learn and discover - beyond Richard Gordon Elementary School to their own greatest galaxies. What does the PTA do? Well... So much more than you can imagine... The PTA sponsors many programs- educational as well as experiential- that benefit our students, families, teachers and staff throughout the school year. None of these programs happen without the support and commitment of our families, friends and greater communty. We offer classroom support, lunchroom support, seasonal activities, free family movie nights, family fun nights, field day and assemblies, teacher appreciation, 5th grade graduation... so much. And yet this school year of 2020-2021 is remarkably different. And while we cannot bring the in-person events and support that we have in years past, we are working diligently to ensure support where and when we can. Membership

We encourage each family to become active members (as they are able) of the Richard Gordon PTA (though membership is not necessary to volunteer). 🚀🎨 TIE DYE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🎨🚀

Richard Gordon's annual Tie Dye Day is blasting off this week on June 4th, and we need a few more crew members to help make this colorful tradition a success!

We are currently low on volunteers and still have several open spots available.

⏰ Volunteer Shifts:
• 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
• 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM

No tie-dye experience is necessary. We'll provide everything you need. Volunteers help students through the tie-dye process, keep supplies stocked, and help create an amazing experience for our kids.

⚠️ Volunteers must have a volunteer clearance on file with the district. If you're unsure of your status, please contact the school office and they can help.

This is one of the most anticipated student events of the year, and we can't do it without our incredible volunteers. If you can spare a few hours, we'd love to have you join the crew!

Our PTA crew (Cliff, Cayce, Angie, and Rob) traded in their day jobs for island duty… rocking the Hawaiian shirts, shades, and big smiles while serving up nearly 400 cups of shaved ice to the best students and staff in the galaxy 🚀

The weather showed up, the music was pumpin’, and the line kept moving as we scooped, poured, and laughed our way through an awesome event. Days like this are what make our school community so special ❤️

📚 Gordon Elementary Book Fair is TODAY!

We know it’s a little rainy out there… but honestly, that just sounds like the perfect excuse to visit Saltwater Book Shop and pick up something cozy to read.

Stop by anytime between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM to see guest readers (including many of your favorite Gordon teachers!) sharing great books throughout the day.

Even better, 20% of all sales today go back to the Richard Gordon PTA, helping support programs for our students.

And don’t forget… Read-a-Thon is in full swing!
