Bon-Odori Dance Festival for Peace The traditional Bon-odori Dance Festival is a part of Buddhist ritual ‘Obon’. We are always looking for green minded people to participate in the event.

Here in the Hudson Valley we extended this summer event not only for fun, but also for raising an awareness of peaceful living - NuclearーFree Future, No Nuclear wars and energy Every August we hold a Dance Festival based in a Japanese Buddhist tradition of community ancestral remembrance to spread the message of peace and green-living. We will have music & dance performances, Japanese Martial arts

demonstrations, presentations and exhibits of local and historical interests, and food vendors. There is also a ceremony to send prayers to all victims of nuclear disasters such as Hiroshima & Nagasaki and Fukushima & Chernobyl. Please contact us if you like to see how you can get involved. Fifteen years ago today, on March 11, 2011, the day the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant core meltdown occurred, we send our message and mourn all victims of the nuclear disasters.

Come join us for a Japanese year-end tradition – Mochi rice cake pounding at POP-UP Cafe and shop, 10 Cedar St. Kingston tomorrow. There will be taiko drumming classes in the morning at CCE, followed by Mochi pounding and tasting. The road will be cleared by 10a. Hope to see you there.

We received a street banner and brought it to the city hall, but we found that the printer forgot to add wind slits...! Roy said, "You should bring it back to the printer. You must ask the professional to do it." Bringing it back to the online printer? Since we have only two weeks to hang it, it's impossible. Here's the proof of professional hand....
