Today the 4-H Club Foundation hosted the First Annual Sporting Clay Tournament at Addieville East Farm. Despite the cold weather, wind, and rain, a good time was had by all. The folks at Addieville were great. The caterer, Culinary Connections provided a delicious steak and chicken lunch. A huge thanks to all our volunteers that made the day flow so smoothly!

Time to meet a different member of our board. Kathy Foster was a member of the West Kingston Workateers and SRI 4-H Dairy Club.
She met her husband of 33 years John through 4- H and many of her lifelong friends are former 4-H members.
It was because of her friendship with Angie Briggs that she joined the Board of Directors in 2013. She is currently the Treasurer, but has been the President, Vice President, and Secretary.
4-H provided the opportunity to go to Washington DC and Chicago and represent Rhode Island at the National Conferences. She learned skills such as cooking, sewing, photography, public speaking, and animal care in 4-H that she has used my entire life.
“Volunteering on the foundation’s board of directors is giving me a chance to give back to the organization that has given me so much. I am proud of the work that we do to continue providing Rhode Island youth with financial support for their programs and activities to grow into successful men and women”.

There’s still time to get in on our fundraiser! You won’t want to miss out on this one!

The Rhode Island 4-H Foundation welcomes its newest board member Ryan Beattie, a North Stonington, Connecticut resident with a long history of involvement in the Rhode Island 4-H community.

She has spent many years supporting the Rhode Island 4-H Fairs, including serving as a judge and working closely with many 4-H members with their animal projects . She is also the parent of two boys, Dakota and Chase who have gone through the Rhode Island 4-H program that are also now giving back to Rhode Island 4-H through their own volunteer work.

She currently serves as the Rabbit Barn Superintendent and Vice President of the Southern Rhode Island 4-H Fair, where she helps with the day-to-day operations and organization of their events.

Outside of 4-H, she works in the public schools in North Stonington. She and her husband, along with their family, also own and operate a successful show pig operation showing their stock all over the east coast.

Help us welcome Tom to our board!

A proud resident of West Greenwich, Rhode Island for more than 33 years, Tom Kilday has been deeply involved in the local 4-H community as a dedicated member of the “Anything and Everything” 4-H Club. Through 4-H, he actively supported his own children’s participation in the program while helping countless others develop leadership, responsibility, and life skills.

Tom Kilday serves the Town of West Greenwich as a Paramedic with West Greenwich Emergency Medical Services, where he provides critical care and lifesaving support to neighbors in times of need. Committed to strengthening the community, He also volunteers extensively and leads through generosity as part of the Team Kilday Foundation, participating in volunteer efforts and providing financial support to local programs and initiatives.

Guided by a strong personal philosophy that true self-actualization is achieved through altruism, Tom Kilday continues to champion volunteerism and community well-being in West Greenwich and beyond.
