As Arrows in the Sky continues to grow, we’ve been thinking about what it looks like to evolve without losing sight of who we are.

Most weeks, we’re simply passing through, packing boxes, responding to requests, planning events, sending emails, managing details. Each of us carrying our own responsibilities, all working toward the same goal of bringing hope to families navigating pregnancy and infant loss, pregnancy after loss, and infertility.

Last Saturday, we tried something new.

We gathered around the table, not to work, but to be together.

We shared coffee, carried one another’s burdens, spoke the names of families we are serving, prayed over circumstances we cannot fix on our own, and reminded ourselves why this mission exists in the first place.

It was powerful.

Not because anything extraordinary happened, but because in the midst of growth, deadlines, and responsibilities, we made space to be intentional. To slow down. To listen. To remember that before Arrows in the Sky is an organization, it is a community of people committed to showing up with hope.

For the families we serve.
For one another.
For the calling we’ve been entrusted with.

And that feels like something worth protecting as we continue to grow. 🤍

It's been a quiet week around here, but we certainly haven't forgotten you. If anything, your names have been spoken even more.

While Arrows in the Sky was a little quieter online this week, the mission never stopped. Our leadership team stepped away for a few days to be refreshed, renewed, and inspired. As volunteers balancing families, careers, and the daily responsibilities of life, opportunities to step away and recharge are rare, but so important.

This week was filled with laughter, meaningful conversations, and tears, both joyful and sorrowful. There were so many moments that reminded us how fortunate we are to be called to this mission.

Even while away, support package requests continued to come in from families across the country, including South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, Michigan, Georgia, and Washington. Each request served as a reminder that families are grieving, hoping, healing, and searching for support every single day.

We also had the opportunity to share the mission of Arrows in the Sky in the middle of Fenway Park alongside another incredible organization, Jesus Over Baseball. It was a powerful reminder that opportunities to share hope often appear in the most unexpected places.

One of the most meaningful moments came while visiting the flower garden in Salem, Massachusetts, where •Hocus Pocus• was filmed. Among the blooms were beautiful bright red poppy flowers. For our organization, poppies will always hold special meaning as a reminder of Poppy, the precious life whose legacy inspired this mission.

There is something incredibly comforting about being reminded, in the midst of everyday life, of the life that once lived here. The life that changed everything. The life that sparked this mission. The life that gave purpose to pain and inspired a movement of support for families navigating pregnancy loss, infant loss, pregnancy after loss, and infertility.

In that moment, we were reminded that a legacy can continue to grow long after a life ends. Every family served, every package delivered, every conversation shared, and every act of kindness offered is part of that legacy.

Throughout the week, there were countless reminders that when we are willing to listen, God continues to open doors and create opportunities far beyond what we could ever imagine.

We are incredibly excited about the legacy being built right here in our little town and the impact that is reaching families across the country.

Most importantly, we are grateful for each of you. Thank you for sharing our story, thinking of us when a family is hurting, giving your time, knowledge, connections, financial support, and prayers. Thank you for believing in this mission and helping us ensure that no family walks these journeys alone.

Everything that has grown from the ashes of loss is not because of us, but because of Him.

So, from all of us at Arrows in the Sky, thank you.

We're back. We're refreshed. And we're incredibly grateful.

When people think about pregnancy loss, infertility, pregnancy after loss, or pregnancy after infertility, the focus is often on mothers. And while moms absolutely need support, there is another group of people quietly carrying immense grief, fear, and heartache: dads.

At Arrows in the Sky, we serve dads because loss impacts the entire family.

We’ve met fathers who held their partners through heartbreaking goodbyes while silently grieving their own child. We’ve met men who have spent years in the waiting of infertility, wondering if they’ll ever hear someone call them “Dad.” We’ve met fathers navigating the anxiety of a pregnancy after loss, carrying both hope and fear with every appointment and milestone.

Too often, dads feel the pressure to be the strong one. The supporter. The fixer. The one who keeps moving forward.

But dads hurt too.

They grieve too.

They wait too.

They deserve to be seen, supported, and reminded that they are not alone.

That’s why every package we send, every event we host, and every family we walk alongside includes fathers in the story. Because healing happens when the whole family is cared for.

To every dad hurting, waiting, grieving, or hoping today: we see you, and your story matters.

Maybe grief looks a little bit like spaghetti. 🍝

It’s not uncommon for Arrows in the Sky to receive anywhere from 5–25 support requests each week from families across the country.

What •is• uncommon is when the request comes from right here at home.

It hits differently when the hurting family is part of your own community. When it’s a friend you’ve shared a table with. A family you’ve prayed beside. A couple you’ve done life with.

So, when we get that call we show up.

Different, but the same.

The first responders to grief, but these unique times are characterized by our homemade spaghetti, fresh baked bread, salad, dessert, flowers, paper products, and anything else we can carry through the front door to remind them they are seen.

Because sometimes hope looks less like words and more like a warm meal no one had the strength to make.

We show up because that’s what our parents did when someone was hurting or a relative passed away.

We show up because every life deserves to be acknowledged, no matter how small.

Sometimes we are one of many sitting beside a grieving family.

Sometimes, too often, we are the only ones.

And until every family experiencing pregnancy or infant loss is met with support, love, and a little bit of homemade hope…we’ll keep showing up, sometimes with spaghetti in hand. 🫶🏻🍝

✨ Did You Know? ✨

Did you know that Arrows in the Sky is a fully volunteer-led organization? 🤲🏻🤲🏼🤲🏽

That’s right, there is not a paid staff member—yet. And somehow, in Quarter 1 of 2026 alone, this little Roane County organization sent out nearly 350 Hope in Hands support packages to families walking through infertility, pregnancy loss, infant loss, and pregnancy after support.

It’s incredible to look back and see the growth God has created through Arrows in the Sky.

As a mission, we try our best to prepare for where God is taking us, not just where we currently are. Sometimes that growth means making changes that look different than what we started with.

Last year, we made the decision to transition from handwritten cards to professionally pre-printed cards. At first, it felt like a scary change, but it created a meaningful relationship with another local small business: Gene’s Printing. Dan and Jennifer have supported our organization in ways far beyond printing. They’ve offered guidance, professionalism, and recommendations that have helped us step confidently into the next level, whether that’s events, meetings with larger organizations, or strengthening our branding across the board.

Another incredible partnership has been with Jill Best Photography. Through event photography, team photos, and helping us professionally represent our organization visually, Jill has helped tell the story of Arrows in the Sky in a way words alone never could.

In 2025, we took another huge step by launching www.ArrowsintheSky.com with the incredible team at Slamdot in Knoxville.

Before that, we handled support package requests through Microsoft Forms. At the time, it worked, and there’s nothing wrong with starting where you are. But we’ve always believed that if we’re asking God to grow this mission, we also have to be willing to prepare for that growth.

The website completely shifted our organization and created an online presence that has become invaluable.

Now, we’re continuing to grow again by working with that same amazing team at SlamDot to integrate an Application Programming Interface (API) system that will eventually automate communication between our website, shipping platform, and inventory tracking.

We’ve also been grateful for the guidance of Maven Nonprofit Consulting as they’ve helped us think beyond just today and begin planning for the future of this organization in sustainable and intentional ways.

Are we perfect? Absolutely not.

But we believe being good stewards of our time, talents, and finances allows us to reach more families and truly serve as first responders for those facing unimaginable grief.

It’s amazing to think this organization once started in the garage of our home.

Where will God take Arrows in the Sky next?

We honestly don’t know, and we never want to limit Him. 🕊️

Today, we pause to remember the meaning behind Memorial Day. Originally known as “Decoration Day,” it began after the Civil War as families and communities gathered to decorate the graves of fallen soldiers with flowers and flags — honoring those who gave everything for the freedoms we often take for granted. Over time, it became Memorial Day, a day set aside to honor all military men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

At Arrows in the Sky, we recognize that “thank you” will never truly feel adequate for what has been given. There is no way to fully repay the debt owed to those who laid down their lives for others. Scripture reminds us in John 15:13, *“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”* So many have lived out that Gospel truth through their service and sacrifice.

This Memorial Day also carries a deep sense of humility for our organization. Over the past year, it has been an incredible honor to receive the call from National Guard Family Services and to serve as a support resource for military families walking through unimaginable grief and hardship. While we never want those calls to come, we are profoundly grateful that Arrows in the Sky can answer the call to serve those who so selflessly serve our country and communities every single day.

To every fallen hero, every Gold Star family, and every loved one carrying the weight of sacrifice — we remember you today. Your lives, your service, and your sacrifices matter, and they will never be forgotten.

Hope in the midst of grief means believing that joy can still exist even after heartbreak.

It doesn’t mean the pain is gone.
It doesn’t mean you’ve “moved on.”
It means choosing to keep living, loving, and breathing forward while carrying the weight of what was lost.

Hope in grief is quiet sometimes.
It looks like getting out of bed.
Walked into the empty room that’s planned for a nursery.
Trying again.
Smiling without guilt.
Allowing yourself to dream about the future while still missing what should have been.

For many grieving families, hope is not loud optimism, it’s courage.

It’s the decision to believe that darkness will not have the final word. 🤍
