City folks, please contact your Council members to support banning rodeos.

A groundbreaking piece of legislation is making waves in New York City, offering new hope for animals exploited in rodeos. Intro 1255, a bill introduced by NYC Council Member Bob Holden, has garnered a supermajority of support, with 34 co-sponsors in the City Council. 🙏🐂

The vital legislation would prohibit some of the most cruel and painful practices used in rodeos, including calf roping, electric prods, and flank straps, all tools that inflict fear, suffering, and serious injury on animals forced into these performances.

The next step in this legislative process is a hearing before the City Council Committee on Health. This will be a critical opportunity to amplify the voices of those who stand against animal cruelty and advocate for a more compassionate, humane city. 💛🐂

Another state joins New York in banning this cruel practice. Yay!

California has officially banned cat declawing! 🙌

Thanks to the leadership of Assemblymember Alex Lee , AB 867 passed the Legislature and was signed by Governor Gavin Newsom — making California the latest state to enact this common-sense, humane law.

When asked what her favorite animal was, Jane Goodall answered, "My favorite animal altogether is a dog because dogs have taught me so much and dogs are so faithful, and dogs give unconditional love, and I don't like to think of a world without dogs."

Rest in peace, Dr. Jane Goodall.

amazing news 🎉 after years of discussions with PETA behind the scenes, has banned the online sale of glue traps! these cruel devices cause animals to suffer slow, painful deaths 💔 we hope the company will ban glue traps from their shelves, too!

Thank you, Jane Goodall, for the life you lived and the knowledge you brought us.

Thank you, Jane Goodall, for the life you lived and the knowledge you brought us.

She walked softly through the forest, yet her voice carried across continents.

Jane Goodall was not merely a scientist; she was a soul entwined with nature’s breath.

With patience as her compass and compassion as her creed, she listened to the whispers of chimpanzees and taught humanity to hear.

Her legacy is etched not in stone, but in the living pulse of every creature she defended.

She stood against extinction, against indifference, against despair; undaunted, unyielding.

Her eyes saw not just animals, but kin.

Her hands planted hope where others saw ruin.

And now, though she walks in flesh no more among the trees, her spirit rustles in every leaf, echoes in every call of the wild.

Let us carry her torch; not as mourners, but as stewards.

For Jane Goodall did not vanish.

She became the forest.

The dying continues. Please don’t support horse racing in any way.

The dying continues. Please don’t support horse racing in any way.

💔 Silver Skillet collapsed and died while training at Belmont: “reared and collapsed – diagnosis: sudden death.” She was just five years old and had already been whip-driven 22 times, her last race at Saratoga on August 22.

Silver is now one of 21 horses killed at Belmont Park this year alone — part of the mounting death toll across New York tracks.

This is not “sport.” This is systemic, taxpayer-funded cruelty. Horseracing kills — and it must end.

New York has banned declawing.

Good news! The American Animal Hospital Association has adopted several new standards of accreditation, including discouraging cat declawing, devocalization, and ear cropping when not medically necessary. Typically performed for cosmetics or convenience, these cruel procedures can result in harmful side effects and prolonged pain. We applaud AAHA for adopting these standards and saving untold animals from unnecessary suffering. 🙌

Let NYC officials know you don’t support such conditions for these horses. End horse drawn carriages in NYC.

PETSA's new billboard in NYC asking public not to support the carriage horse trade. You can contact City officials and ask them to end this business which is so demanding and dangerous for the horses and has taken the lives of so many of them.

Just last week, a horse named Lady collapsed and died while pulling a carriage through NYC streets.

Now, towering over the very spot where she collapsed and died, our new billboard is a powerful reminder: NEVER ride in a horse-drawn carriage.

Please be careful when walking your dog.

Please be careful when walking your dog.

DOG OWNERS: PLEASE don't walk your dogs in the heat of the day. Stick to sunrise or closer to sunset.

We are entering our longest/hottest stretch of summer with highs near 100° for the next couple of weeks. Walking on the sidewalk is a no-no with concrete temps up to 130° under the sun. Walking on asphalt is borderline criminal with puppy paws burning quickly on 140°+ temps.

If you can't put your hand on the ground without feeling pain, your pups can't walk on it. This has been a PSA
