Q-Club offers a safe space for those ages 12-17 to chat, create art, hang out, and build community. This is a place where we encourage teens to come as they are and embrace who they want to be by building self confidence in finding community and seeing themselves reflected in media. Allies, friends, and support buddies are all welcome. Snacks will be provided by our partners at Q***rNEPA.

Spirit Day is an annual event to support LGBTQ+ youth and bring awareness to the disproportionate amount of bullying LGBTQ+ youth experience. According to Glisten’s 2025 National School Climate Survey, 62% of LGBTQ+ youth experienced harassment or assault based on sexual orientation and 68% experienced harassment or assault based on gender identity and gender expression.

In 2024, The Trevor Project’s research found 49% of LGBTQ+ youth between 13 and 17 were bullied in the past year, and those bullied had higher rates of su***de attempts.

Spirit Day is a day to come together and stand in solidarity with LGBTQ+ youth against bullying and discrimination. Show your support by wearing purple today!

Join us for a thoughtful discussion of Alice Winn’s In Memoriam — a powerful World War I love story that follows childhood friends Sidney Ellwood and Henry Gaunt as they navigate the trenches, trauma, desire, and the brutal cost of survival. Their bond becomes both a refuge and a rebellion as war threatens to consume everything they know.

We’ll meet at Coqui Kitchen in Pittston at 11 AM, where fusion Puerto Rican–American comfort food will set the perfect backdrop for exploring the novel’s emotional depth, historical context, and unforgettable characters.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!

It appears that the proposed vote to repeal the Luzerne County Nondiscrimination Ordinance has been removed from this evening's County Council Agenda.

Members of the public may still make comments in support of the Ordinance if they choose so, but the vote is not scheduled at this time.

September 18, 2026 is National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day (NHAAD). This day is observed each year to highlight the growing number of individuals who, thanks to major advancements in HIV treatment, are living long, full lives. NHAAD helps raise awareness for HIV prevention and treatment strategies for older individuals and long-term survivors living with HIV.

In 2024, approximately 16-18% of new HIV cases were diagnosed in those 50 and older. Individuals born with HIV or acquired HIV soon after birth are also impacted by aging-related complications. People aging with HIV can face difficulties related to drug interactions with medications for HIV and other conditions and are more likely to have age-related conditions like heart problems, memory loss, and weakness compared to individuals without HIV.

As more people are living long and happy lives with HIV, awareness of these health issues becomes more and more important.

We will be conducting a community clean-up in partnership with Q***r NEPA and Action Together of NEPA. Join us in cleaning up Main Street in Archbald. We will meet at the Raceway Gas Station; we will provide gloves, vests, and other materials.
