2024 Bartow Fall Classic "Final Harvest" Hard work behind the scenes recognition!

The belt buckle is sort of a resume or name tag for the Cattlemen far beyond a simple fashion accessory. Buckles often bearer the mark of a trusted brand belonging to a family operation that it alone signifies quality, establishment, and reliability to the industry by reputation.
So, the buckle is rightfully crafted and tooled with Gold, Silver, Copper, and precious stones because it is a badge of honor not just a piece of plated metal.
As a continued tradition and with the financial support of our great sponsors, the Bartow Fall Classic will be awarding buckles to both Supreme and Reserve Supreme Steers and Heifers as well as each showmanship class winner.

The Bartow Fall Classic show committee recognized Mrs. April Hardin and presented her with a 2024 Buckle for this year’s show. Without this Cattlewomen’s leadership, organization, and decision making this show would not be possible.

Mrs. April is Secretary of the Bartow Fall Classic and has been for several years. Mrs. April has processed entries, answered questions, weighed cattle, doctored kids, chased cattle, worked all around the show ring, baked cookies, and far exceeded her duties to make sure these junior livestock exhibitors have a great show. Mrs. April advocates for a show free of outside influences and an equal opportunity to all. We presented Mrs. April with a 2024 Bartow Fall Classic Steer and Heifer Final Harvest show buckle in the same format as the Supreme and Reserve Supreme Belt Buckles for her to show her years of dedication and hard work she gave to this show and these Junior Livestock Exhibitors.
May she wear her buckle as a badge of honor and let it remind her and show others of her impact on agriculture and our youth. It’s truly a lifetime of bragging rights.

2024 Bartow Fall Classic Steer & Heifer Show "Final Harvest"
The Reflection
Twenty-four-years, FFA Advisor, Ms. Connie Collier, the foundation of the Cass High School FFA had a vision to establish a youth livestock show much like the values spoken about in Paul Harvey’s poem “So God made a Farmer”.
Collier for years witnessed a little barn not much bigger than a shed at the American Legion Fairgrounds in downtown Cartersville fill with FFA and 4H livestock exhibitors eager to exhibit with local livestock projects they worked so hard on preparing for the one big day of the Bartow County Fair Livestock Show.
When rumors started to spread of the intent to no longer have livestock events at the county fair, Collier set out on mission to raise funds through local supporters to preserve the exhibition of show cattle in Bartow County.
Collier knew her planned paradise of a “cow show” was going to need caretakers willing to get up early, stay up late, and work tirelessly to keep the event going not for just a year but for years.
Collier did not just need someone, she needed and found somebody’s with arms strong enough to rustle show calves, generous financial supporters, and families with soft but strong bonds who were willing to laugh and sigh when it was all over, and then reply, with smiling eyes, when she said “see this is why we have to do it again next year”.
So, Collier founded the Bartow Fall Classic Steer and Heifer Show.
Now, years have passed and the burning torch of the Bartow Fall Classic has continued to burn bright. Starting in a small little barn in downtown Cartersville filled with only local kids to now a large complex filled with junior livestock exhibitors from all over the southeastern United States. The Bartow Fall Classic is one of the biggest junior steer and heifer shows in the state with over 100 head of cattle on site show day each year.
In early 2024, Ms. Collier passed away peacefully. The Bartow Fall Classic Show Committee decided to bring back the Bartow Fall Classic Steer and Heifer Show for one last “Final Harvest”
Once again, we have all gathered under the barn, a chilly north wind has started to blow, and the fruits of our labors have shared their treasures. The cattle have started to put on hair, the grasshoppers pour out quick and trembling notes, and mother nature prepares us for her rest for the birth of those costs. And so, the Bartow Fall Classic has reached its Final Harvest.
The Bartow Fall Classic Show Committee would like to thank all the supporters, helping hands, to all those not present to the people in the front all they way to the people in the back, Thank You for all your years of continued support in making the Bartow Fall Classic Steer and Heifer Show one of the greatest junior shows.
Ms. Collier here is your “Final Harvest” of the Bartow Fall Classic Steer and Heifer Show.

2024 Bartow Fall Classic "Final Harvest" Dedication.

Each Year the Bartow Fall Classic Steer and Heifer Show is dedicated to someone as a way to we can express our gratitude to a participant or contributor, and acknowledge their positive impact on the event’s success.

It is an honor to dedicate the “Final Harvest” of the 2024 Bartow Fall Classic to not just an individual or contributor, but to a family whose values run deep in not only the success of the Bartow Fall Classic but to something much deeper.

With a strong family bond, this family believes in God, our County, and the American Family Farm way of life.

The 2024 Bartow Fall Classic was dedicated to Mr. J.R. and Judy Pritchett & Family.

J.R. and Judy along with their two daughters: Tyra Pritchett Ballard and Brandi Pritchett Hurd have been part of the Bartow Fall Classic since the beginning and even before then.
A family of Cass High Graduates, former members of the Cass High FFA and Alumni, former students of Ms. Collier, and two generations of livestock exhibitors.

J.R. and Judy have been the extended family for so many of the juniors since Brandi started exhibiting livestock in the mid 90’s. They have had the opportunity to see how important junior livestock events forge friendships and bond foundations which will last a life time.

The Pritchett family has not only been a financial supporter of the Bartow Fall Classic but they have assisted countless years behind the scene from baking cakes, show day clean up, silent auction donations, to just putting their arms around a junior in the barn regardless of their placing.

Thank you, J.R. and Judy for being the extended parents, grandparents, friends, or just a shoulder to hold onto for support to so many juniors along the show road. Brandi, your years of photography at the show captured so many memories of so many to treasure for years to come, Robert, your donated metal ranch designed silent auction items were always a high light of the sale, and Tyra and Russel, thank you for your financial support, believing youth and agriculture secure our future, and keeping the show running from the announcer’s table.

Last but not least, Kylie and Katie Jo, thank you both for presenting the American Flag, leading the Pledge of Allegiance, helping behind the scenes, and for being second-generation junior livestock exhibitors that have exhibited in the Bartow Fall Classic since you both big enough to hold onto that leather lead in the pee-wee division.

On behalf of the Bartow Fall Classic Steer and Heifer Show, Mr. and Mrs. Pritchett we present you with this dedication of the “Final Harvest”.
