🫐 Stewardship Party along the Esopus Creek 🫐

After 8 years of care, it’s time! Join us as we remove the deer fence and tidy up this thriving native and edible riparian zone so it can be more fully enjoyed by the community.

Come lend a hand, connect with the land, and spend an evening along the creek with us—we’ll provide tools and refreshments to share after we sweat.

Join us in celebration of Juneteenth as we gather in remembrance, celebration, and community. ā¤ļøšŸ–¤šŸ’š

Today KLT will be joining the Freedom Walk—gathering at 10:30am on Franklin Ave (between Broadway and Prospect), with a kickoff at 11am, walking together to the historic Pine Street African Burial Ground.

On Sat. June 20, KLT will be tabling at Harambee’s Juneteenth event—stop by to connect, learn more about our work, and honor this important history together.

We’re proud to have partnered with Harambee and Scenic Hudson in 2019 to help permanently protect the Pine Street African Burial Ground. We co-developed a conservation easement to ensure this sacred site would be forever protected and cared for by the community committed to honoring its history and legacy.

Huge congratulations to Harambee Kingston on receiving formal recommendations for National Historic Designation—a powerful step toward national recognition of this site’s significance. We celebrate this milestone and stand with you as the process moves forward.

Come say hi and be in community with us this Juneteenth weekend!

šŸ¦‹ The Butterfly Whisperer šŸ¦‹

Caught in a moment of magic at the Land In Black Hands Land Base—our Land Steward Aviyonna, in flow with the land, as a butterfly lands, lingers, and dances all around her.

When we slow down, tend the soil, and move with intention, the land responds—sometimes in the most beautiful, unexpected ways. Shoutout to Aviuonna for the love and energy she brings to this space.

Come experience it for yourself—join us for a Land In Black Hands stewardship party this season. Our next one is July 9th!
