In addition to aiding those in recovery, Colin's fund has helped sponsor children to attend the YMCA's Camp Kresge, where he worked as a summer camp counselor. This beautiful bench was dedicated in his memory on the lovely camp grounds.

COLIN'S STORY

This beautiful face is the face of addiction... Addiction is a disease, and it does not discriminate.

A beautiful, kind, loving person was taken too soon because of this beast of a disease.

Colin battled addiction for 13 years; he sadly lost his fight on July 21st, 2018, at the age of 27.

Colin was born and raised in Kingston, PA. He was an avid athlete who started playing Kingston T-Ball at age 4 and played for Kingston through Teener's Baseball. As an adult, he continued to enjoy playing ball in several adult softball leagues. He was a fantastic lefty pitcher and an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. He looked forward to every baseball game, softball game, and tournament. He also loved to bowl and play golf. He was a naturally gifted athlete.

More than just a gifted athlete, Colin had a heart of gold. He had a great sense of humor and always made everyone around him feel good. He was the kindest, sweetest, young man you could ever hope to know. He utilized these characteristics while working at Camp Kresge as a counselor for several years.

In Colin’s loving memory, The Colin R. MacLean Fund raises awareness about addiction, assists those in various stages of their recovery from substance abuse disorders, and provides scholarships for children to attend the YMCA's Camp Kresge.

Who are the fund managers?

We are Colin's parents, Ray and Janet MacLean, his sister, Corissa Gidula, and his best friend, Katie Camoni. Our world will be forever changed without his beautiful light, infectious smile, warm hugs, and tender heart. We vow to make something positive out of this horrific tragedy. We will keep Colin's name and memory alive by spreading awareness.
