One of the most tragic events that has happened in Roane County is the su***de of Dorothy Welch and the murder of her three children. They are buried in the Emory-Webster Cemetery.

These are souvenir china wheelocks that show Roane County locations. The Rockwood and Harriman ones were made in Austri...

These are souvenir china wheelocks that show Roane County locations. The Rockwood and Harriman ones were made in Austria while the Oliver Springs ones were made in Germany. The Rockwood wheelocks were made for The Peoples Store in Rockwood while the Harriman ones were made for R.C. Berry of Harriman. The Oliver springs ones were made for J.S. Keebler, Merchant, of Oliver Springs. There are not any known for Kingston. They were made about 1900 to 1910.
